Greg's thoughts
[edit]Nice work! Here are a few thoughts/ questions I had.
- I was a little confused about: Wittgenstein didn't want students making notes of what he said in lectures, but then he did want them to make notes for the Blue and Brown Books? (Wittgenstein is certainly capable of being inconsistent; I just wanted to make sure he was being inconsistent here)
- I think the Alma Mater in the right-hand-side textbox should say, instead of just "Newnham College", "University of Cambridge" or "Newnham College, University of Cambridge"
- In your User Contributions, there's a bullet point that says "13:36, 10 April 2023 diff hist +842 User:Erinkluge/Alice Ambrose added a list of her publications". But when I look at the list of publications in your sandbox page, it looks like it's the same as the currently-existing one?
- More importantly, the list of publications is not complete. It looks like it might be all of her BOOKS, but none of her articles or chapters? You could at least include some of her articles (at least the one on Finitism in mathematics that caused the rift with Wittgenstein)
- Speaking of which (and this is totally optional), it would be great if there were at least a LITTLE content/ detail on what exactly Ambrose said in the finitism article, and/or what particular bit(s) Wittgenstein objected to? (You could definitely get the first; the second might be more difficult.) More generally: it would be great if the article could say at least a LITTLE about what her substantive views/ positions were.
- Teeny-tiny point: Her "Doctoral Advisors" (in the right-hand side box) are listed as Wittgenstein and Moore. That's obviously for her 2nd PhD. But what about her doctoral advisor at Wisconsin-Madison?
OK that's more than enough! RudyCarnap (talk) 18:51, 27 April 2023 (UTC)
