Regarding this, uh, the hurricane has 125-mph sustained winds, so... what's unclear there? -- tariqabjotu 19:16, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from Nettrom (talk), SuggestBot's caretaker.
P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- SuggestBot (talk) 19:50, 4 September 2010 (UTC)
- Well, that's disappointing. EricLeb01 (Page | Talk) 20:13, 4 September 2010 (UTC)

While appreciateing the closure, I wish also to apologize if I was giving you too hard a time. A difficulty in having a mass nomination, specially for such old films, is that that an AFD usually runs for 7 days... and for a very old film... or even three very old films, the amount of work in bringing them into line is difficult when some of the best sources for such are the hardcopy books and histories available in their entirety only in decent libraries... public or university (and closed on weekends and holidays). Online snippets rarely do the job. And putting one's real-world life on hold while one makes a trip into town to spend hours going through archives takes more than a few minutes. And when you send nearly 20 to AFD all at once... and promise dozens more to quickly follow, perhaps you might do the multiplication and realize the impossibility of meeting the concerns of all in even a 7-day period. Yes... the articles you brought forth had problems... but they were not violations of WP:NOT, and it might have been far better to have spoken with us folks at Project Film so we could have put them on our collctive "to do" lists. And yes, while you were not egregiously wrong by proposing needy articles for deletion, perhaps simply tagging them for sources or cleanup or expansion would have been a far more politic way to handle the situation then was a mass stampede to AFD. And your initial discusions with Lugnuts happened when your prods appeared on his page... he being alseep in his time zone and not immediately responding... and you were then nominating things within 2 hours without waiting for a response. Not everything here has to happen right now, and patience is always rewarded. Just a I myself was able to improve one contextually (and I appreciate your acknowledging it}, we all do have lives away from these darn keyboards. Look... you did bring your concerns to light (though in a big splashy way), and the articles are now on the watch lists of many of us, myself included, who will do what we can over the next few days and weeks to fix them up. As clustered as that AFD became, a good has come out of it. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 22:09, 5 September 2010 (UTC)

- No hard feelings over the AfD - if anything, you've found a few references for some of those films, and I'll be adding them in over the next few days. Any questions, please get back to me, or head to the film project's talkpage. Thanks! Lugnuts (talk) 20:17, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
I'm starting some individual AfDs for certain articles in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of high schools in the Peoria Unified School District. You may be interested in taking a look on the September 6 log for some of these. The New Raymie (t • c) 03:32, 6 September 2010 (UTC)

GOCE newsletter
Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors Backlog Elimination Drive!
Participation report — We have 71 participants in the September drive. 95 people signed up for the July drive, and in May we had 36. Progress report — We have been making solid progress in eliminating the 2008 articles from the backlog so far. If we continue to focus our firepower we can completely wipe out 2008 from the queue. Overall volumes are lower than expected though, with nearly a thousand articles yet to be done if we are to meet our overall target. If you have not yet participated in the drive, we recommend you do so. If each person who signed up edits one article per day from now till the end of the month we can eliminate another 1,065 articles from the backlog. All contributions are appreciated. Announcement: credit for 10k+ articles — Participants editing a 10k word article may claim credit for two 5k+ articles on the leaderboard. Those that edit a 15k word article may claim credit for three. Regardless, the article is still counted as a single article in the tallies. Reminder — Articles from the Requests page can be included in your tally, even if they do not have a copy edit tag. This is a great place to go if you are interested in finding a higher quality article to work on. This newsletter was prepared for the GOCE by Diannaa (Talk), S Masters (talk), HELLKNOWZ ▎TALK, and The Raptor Let's talk. |

Hi. As you recently commented in the straw poll regarding the ongoing usage and trial of Pending changes, this is to notify you that there is an interim straw poll with regard to keeping the tool switched on or switching it off while improvements are worked on and due for release on November 9, 2010. This new poll is only in regard to this issue and sets no precedent for any future usage. Your input on this issue is greatly appreciated. Off2riorob (talk) 23:33, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
Petitcodiac River FAC
I am sorry it closed - I would be glad to do a review as if it were at FAC, once you are done with your improvements. I would rather review it thoroughly once, as opposed to reviewing it once now and then later, if that is OK. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 13:49, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
