Feedback from Dr. Hyde
[edit]Hi Erich: I'm using the little template from the assignment to assess this and give you some feedback.
1) Lay out the structure of your article or the new chunks of an old article with an Introduction and titles for the parts you want to add or rewrite
You’ve made huge progress here. I can see all the sections laid out about Tlingit culture and the sources that you have begun to add. Focusing on arts is a great way to manage this. And you’ve already figured out how to put in images and maps. So, all good there.
2) Added new, high-quality sources (books, articles, authoritative websites)
As you add more citations to the paragraphs here, look for more anthropological material about the Tlingit as well as books and articles by historians.
Here is a fairly new book that OU has: Smetzer, Megan A. Painful Beauty: Native Art of the Pacific Northwest (Seattle: U of Washington, 2021.)
3. Written 50-60% of what you hope to add
Absolutely did this!!
4) Thinking about linking as opposed to creating too much background
Here is where you might need to consider how much background people can get from other Wikipedia articles and how much is appropriate for a Wikipedia site. The section on war is well covered in other places in Wikipedia and it might require you to get into more Russian history than Tlingit history.
5) Started to clean up a few paragraphs
