[edit]Hello, I'm Fragrant Peony. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Caroline Durieux, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Fragrant Peony (talk) 18:04, 3 February 2023 (UTC)

- Hi, please don't add your own opinion or statements which don't have references to Caroline Durieux. Thanks. Tacyarg (talk) 15:15, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
- I see your comments. It would be helpful to know the opinion you're referencing.
- I admit that I don't always reference right away
- Thanks Eretif (talk) 15:37, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for your response. Unsourced info: for example, the three paragraphs starting "Durieux was born into a mixed religion marriage", which look like original research; the paragraph starting "In late December 1920, Caroline returns"; the one starting "In 2018 the Hermes parade included a float titled Caroline Durieux"; the three paragraphs starting "The art exhibitions being sent to Mexico", which include what looks like opinion ("What started out as a tone deaf good intention ... ") and the four paragraphs headed Innovation.Tacyarg (talk) 16:22, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
- I have sources for all of those comments some of which come from oral history with artist. They will be posted within days. Thanks for your comments Eretif (talk) 16:05, 3 March 2023 (UTC)

Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Eretif. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Caroline Durieux, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Tacyarg (talk) 16:13, 3 March 2023 (UTC)
- Hi
- I appreciate all your comments but I hope you have also noticed how robust the page has grown in terms of references and further readings. Yes, I knew the subject well but my interest in filling to her already existing page was prompted because I am preparing papers for a donation to Archives of American Art. In asking for papers they suggested that it may take two years for info to be available for research. I thought I would make some of my info available on your reference page.
- In many ways I respect the care you ask of your contributors. Kudos.
- However, you talk about conflicts of interest and you extol the value of sourcing. Yet it is often the case that folks writing a book or chapter is indeed a friend of the subject about whom they write. Caroline has been dead for 34 years; I am 80. My only interest is giving people doing research to have access to data. Currently, I am working with a Yale scholar on her dissertation on Durieux. That frequently happens.
- I want to make a contribution so that future scholars can have access.
- Thanks Eretif (talk) 16:53, 3 March 2023 (UTC)
