Speedy deletion of AfterWorld (virtual world)
[edit]A tag has been placed on AfterWorld (virtual world), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. AfterWorld
[edit]Hi, Epicahab. The article you are working on can now be found at User:Epicahab/AfterWorld (virtual world). Thanks, Marasmusine (talk) 14:02, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
Oh, in case they haven't been shown to you already, WP:Verifiability and WP:Notability will be useful for you. Marasmusine (talk) 14:06, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on AfterWorld (virtual world), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.
If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}}
on the top of AfterWorld (virtual world) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. TheJazzDalek (talk) 19:59, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with AfterWorld (virtual world). Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion. Thank you. TheJazzDalek (talk) 22:19, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
AfD nomination of AfterWorld (virtual world)
[edit]I have nominated AfterWorld (virtual world), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/AfterWorld (virtual world). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. TheJazzDalek (talk) 13:10, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
Hi...I have added the hangon tag. My opinion is that this is an important virtual world which will go beta in a few months and it won't hurt anything to have an entry for it. Similar to There.com or Second Life. Please reconsider.

Speedy deletion of AfterWorld
[edit]A tag has been placed on AfterWorld requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Notability for Websites
[edit]Hi - some friendly advice. Seems like you've been through this before, but please read the notability guideline for websites. Your article does not do anything to indicate why the website you are writing about is notable. JCutter { talk to me } 23:18, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Userification
[edit]- I have archived the most recent version of your page to User:Epicahab/AfterWorld, as it still didn't meet the A7 criteria. I notice that this article has been userified before, please present your completed draft at WP:DRV next time before copying it back into the mainspace, so that the community can decide whether it meets the criteria before it goes through the whole deletion process again. Any questions, please ask on my talk page. Lankiveil (speak to me) 23:52, 20 April 2009 (UTC).
- I hope you don't get discouraged. I appreciate the fact that you are trying to improve the entry which is why I argued for it to be userfied instead of speedily deleted. In case you are wondering, it's the notability that is being questioned now, so any reliable sources you can find to indicate its notability would be helpful. Good luck, and please ask if you have questions. Wperdue (talk) 23:58, 20 April 2009 (UTC)wperdue
- I note that you have recreated the article in the mainspace again. Please do not do this, as it will just continue to get deleted. If you want to continue working on it, do so at User:Epicahab/AfterWorld, which is a copy of the article that I have made in your own personal userspace for you. Please also note that directory entry sites like GameSpot do not count as "substantial reliable sources" - ideally what you want is a review done by a print magazine, or a full length article by a major independent website.
- This is not a comment positive or negative on the quality of the game itself, it's just that unless we set the bar for inclusion on Wikipedia pretty high, we'd be flooded overnight with articles on every in-development game project out there. As I said, I'll be happy to assist you in any way that I can if you post on my talk page, alternatively you can ask for help at the Wikipedia:Help desk. Lankiveil (speak to me) 00:39, 21 April 2009 (UTC).
- Latest version restored per request at User:Epicahab/AfterWorld (2). Lankiveil (speak to me) 00:41, 21 April 2009 (UTC).
MfD nomination of User:Epicahab/AfterWorld
[edit]User:Epicahab/AfterWorld, a page which you created or substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; you may participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Epicahab/AfterWorld and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User:Epicahab/AfterWorld during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Ricky81682 (talk) 01:42, 27 January 2016 (UTC)
