Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Sandy Brechin. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Brechin All Records requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. DGaw (talk) 17:57, 6 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please read WP:Sockpuppet. You suddenly appeared editing the same Sandy Brechin related articles as User:Sandy Brechin immediately after he was warned about editing articles he was connected with. If you are the same person or were asked to make these changes by Brechin then you could be blocked. noq (talk) 18:18, 6 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am not the same person as Sandy Brechin, but we do know each other.

I am trying to establish a Brechin All Records entry which is being deleted, In my opinion, unfairly.

Brechin All Records is an established record label and as such should be treated as any other small record label, found in Wikipedia under the category of Scottish Record Labels.

I am new to Wikipedia and would like be be able to establish something without it being taken down almost immediately. Eoghainanderson (talk)

I would suggest you choose another subject to avoid a WP:conflict of interest. Articles in Wikipedia need to show notability with WP:reliable sources that are independent of the subject. Your article does not meet these guidelines and was consequently nominated for deletion. Arguing WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS does not work to avoid deletion - you need to show this article meets the inclusion criteria. noq (talk) 18:33, 6 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I will choose other subject but I would like to get this one up and running. I'm at a loss to understand WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS as an invalid argument. Other valid articles are surely a reasonable guide for new articles. If as a new user I am to load up on the many complex rules before I write something then it is not really a source for everyone.

I can understand the argument that any article must have some kind of valid reference. I have provided links to articles which refer to Brechin All Records. e.g. Robert Tannahill. The logs will presumably show that this link was not added by me or by Sandy Brechin. Isn't that enough. I am also building up links to ecternal websites which refer to it. Isn't this enough?

Is there at least a way I can get a reprieve on this delete so I can understand the rules around a valid entry. Or is The Brechin All Records entry going to be forever looked on with suspicion. ?

Linking to other wiki articles does not establish notability. We need independent sources reliable sources and Wikipedia is not considered reliable. If you can show that then the article could be recreated even after it has been deleted. Alternatively you could userfy the article until it is in a state that meets the criteria. To do this, move it to something like User:Eoghainanderson/Brechin All Records and replace the contents of the main article with {{db-g7}} noq (talk) 19:11, 6 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. I've removed the speedy deletion tag from the article as you are still editing it, so you can bring it into line with Wikipedia guidelines. In case you're not familiar with them, the best way to do that will be to include references to secondary sources that talk about the record label, to establish the company's notability and avoid running afoul of the Wikipedia:No original research policy. --DGaw (talk) 19:58, 6 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! And thanks for the advice both of you. I am adding all the external sources I can find. they include a reference from the BBC so fingers crossed it will be enough! Eoghain Anderson

The article Brechin All Records has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:ORGCRIT.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
