Caoling
Would you please recheck your last action? If you checked the interwiki link they inserted [[zh:草嶺]], I think you would quickly agree they were trying to "translate in place". That might not be the best thing to do, but not everyone knows about templates like in-progress and so forth. In any case, if you check what was in place before your last revert, the only Chinese was the interwiki link. And, come to think of it, you _must_ have missed the link, else you would have said zh.wikipedia.org... Shenme (talk) 05:26, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, my mistake. Please assist with the article. The condition it is in right now is not acceptable. It's not even close to being readable English. If he wants to translate an article, the thing to do is work on it in userspace, not post gibberish in mainspace. "Caoling grooms because tool have rich special earth shape scene,so get「Caoling ten scenes」calling number erand smells famous whole Taiwan, becomes scenery area close key scene spot。" Looks like a hatchet job using Babel fish or something. That's not English, Taiwanese, or any other language on this planet. Enigma message 05:33, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
- Unfortunately my books are (literally) 1000 miles away, and for a month. And Google did better anyway! Well, except that figuring out which are 'words' and which are *names* Google fell down. I might be able to help that. Actually, copying the Google translation to the talk page might be a real goad to a 'qualified' person. I'll watchlist it and try to get to that tomorrow.
- Tsaoling, the old name "Fan Ping hole" of Taiwan's tourist attractions, located in Yunlin County, the rural grass Tiegukeng Village. Tsaoling elevation above sea level from 450 to 1750 meters, across an area of about more than 1,000 hectares. Tsaoling and this is a rich landscape of special terrain, it was "Tsaoling Thrilling Scenic Sites" by the famous Taiwan, a key scenic spots Tsaoling.
- Tsaoling scenic cross-border Mei Shan, Chiayi County, Chushan Township, Nantou County and the habitats, such as three administrative regions, slightly basin-like terrain, mountains of the hold, because terrain and landscape is perilous rock valley, to produce Thrilling Scenic Sites , Thrilling Scenic Sites is to Penglai waterfalls, bluffs overlooking the Spring and Autumn, cliffs Treasures, Shuilian Dong, Qing Washi, wonderful hole, Duanhun Valley, concentric Falls, Lian-Zhu Chi, the stream of King and other park.
- It's not the lack of time, or the lack of brains, it's the combination of the two that is my problem. (sigh) Shenme (talk) 06:10, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

Eyyy
Hello thar! Yeah, so I took an extra month off of Wikipedia and now I can barely remember what I'm supposed to do around here or why anyone tolerates me. :P How've you been? Have a fun summer? Master of Puppets Call me MoP! :) 21:45, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
- I didn't get run over by a plane, so my summer surely wasn't as fun as yours! I went out to Colorado, Utah, California, and Arizona, and saw some sights. I'd say it was a fairly good summer. You were gone for like an extra 6 weeks after you were supposed to be back! I was getting worried that you were one of the "disappearing admin" types, and we need the good admins to stay. :) Enigma message 21:49, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
- Aww shucks :P Thanks, I plan on staying. ;) And my summer was pretty exceptional. Though if it makes you feel any better I go back to school now for the (supposedly) hardest year... I'll probably resort to editing a lot, haha. Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! :) 22:29, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

IP 66.210.75.2. Typical repeated genre troll. Where's Pat when we need him? Off on vacation somewhere :D. Actually he more than earned his Wiki-powder. Haven't been on MSN much lately. Have you chatted with Sir Scarianousness? The Real Libs-speak politely 16:59, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- I still chat with him occasionally. I'm on and off MSN all day, so if you want to chat, you can probably find me. I reverted the genre troll a bunch of times, but it's really frustrating without administrative assistance. I guess now we look to see if KOS and Alf are ever online these days? Enigma message 17:04, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- ZING, whoosh... WOW!. Man you're faster than the Flash! :-D The Real Libs-speak politely 17:06, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- I prompted GlassCobra to intervene (he also reverted the IP already today) The Real Libs-speak politely 17:06, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- A reaction time of under 2 minutes is pretty damn good. I must agree. I also commented to GlassCobra. If Pat were around and sysopped, he'd block for a year right now. Well deserved. Just off a 6 month block and large amounts of unproductive edits. We need a battalion of admin corps devoted to fighting genre trolls. Enigma message 17:16, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

Motto of the day
Hello, I notice you're using one of the {{motd}} templates, run by Wikipedia:Motto of the day. You may have noticed that some of the mottos recently have been followed by a date from 2006, or on occasion simply "Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia". The reason for this is that Motto of the day is in some very serious need of help. Participation in the project, which has never been especially high, has dropped considerably over this past summer, to the point we have had several days where no motto was scheduled to appear at all. Over the past several weeks, I've been the only editor scheduling mottos at all, but there aren't enough comments on some of these mottos to justify their use. If we do not get some help - and soon - your daily mottos will stop. In order for us to continue updating these templates for you, we need your help.
When you get a chance between your normal editing, could you stop by our nominations page and leave a few comments on some of the mottos there, especially those that do not have any comments yet? This works very simply; you read a motto, decide whether or not you like it, and post your opinion just below the motto. That's it - no experience required, just an idea of what you personally like and what you feel reflects Wikipedia and its community. If you do have past experience with the project, then please close some of the older nominations once they've got a decent consensus going. There are directions on the nominations page on how to do this.
If you have any questions, please let me know, or post on the project's talk page. I'm looking forward to reading your comments on the suggested mottos, and any additional suggestions you'd like to make. Until then, happy editing! Hersfold (t/a/c) 03:40, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
Interesting...
<3 Tinkleheimer TALK!! 19:14, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
- Hey! That wasn't me! I'm not sure who came up with it, but I saw User:Jehochman use it. I do feel much cooler now, though. :) Enigma message 19:16, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

He's got some good faith edits intermingled with the vandalism, so I'm going to keep a close eye on him and see what he does, but he's treading on thin ice. Useight (talk) 20:38, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
So...
...I thought I was saving the world with this suggestion...but I got radio silence. I'm hurt. Frank | talk 17:15, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
- I saw your suggestion but haven't gotten the chance to try it out. Thanks! Enigma message 18:33, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
- Well, Sarah ain't going away... :-) Frank | talk 18:44, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
- I've never seen that happen before. What the VP announcement did to her article... It was beyond the normal heightened interest. I guess it's because the choices are not usually so out of left field. Enigma message 04:04, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

Touch and go indeed! He's messed with my userspace in the past too. I figure the more he's messing with me, the less time he has to muck around in the mainspace. That's what's really important. Have a good evening! —Elipongo (Talk contribs) 05:07, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
Outrageous Fortune cast deletions
PLEASE EXPLAIN why are you removing the cast pages from the New Zealand television show 'Outrageous Fortune'!!!.... since when has the Wikipedia become a site for the 'USA' only?!! I thought the whole point was of Wikipedia was that it was a GLOBAL site, not solely for people living in the northern hemisphere. The only way it is going to be of use globally, is if there are people from our area making additions, but this of course takes time. I also think a better way of listing tv characters may be to have the show tied to the name as I have set up for some of them, which enables people to more accurately find what they are seeking...--Alcatelzknz (talk) 14:54, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
- I am not removing cast pages from anything whatsoever. I have no idea what you're talking about. Enigma message 23:56, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
Hey!
Hey Enigma, whats up? I started a wiki for video game reviews and I thought you'd be interested. Here's the link. Burner0718 Jibba Jabba! 21:22, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

I have my stupid head on. I don't get it. Please explain! --Dweller (talk) 09:39, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

I've seen that one before
He was an edit warrior from days long gone by. Seems to be editing instrumentation now. Why is it that people like to add things like sitar or harmonica to musicians just because they played the stupid thing once in their career??? The Real Libs-speak politely 23:55, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
I agree with you that ViperNerd is ...
... smearing the Clemson Tigers page with what I believe is an irrelevant article.--Robapalooza (talk) 17:21, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
