Advertisment? Where?
[edit]Hello Enigmafication,
You just recently marked the ScreenFlow page as and advertisement, but I do not see what you mean. I read the advertisment clause and I do not think it applies. If you read the page then you should be able to see that it is a fact-based article about a product. The article talks about the software, its features, and some awards it has won. Please let me know what you percieve as a problem with it, thank you. --Ballplyr86 (talk) 22:06, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
" ScreenFlow from Telestream is a screencasting software. It is an Award-winning, professional screencasting software offers smart choice for creating high-quality teaching, training and sales videos for the web.'
...
Specifications
Record from desktop, a video camera, microphone & computer's audio simultaneously Powerful editing tools Highlight using 'Callouts' Position video in 3D Easy narration of presentations Highest quality exporting Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard only
" Quoting that it is a "Award-winning, professional" anything in order to define it comes off like an advertisment. The specifications listed are features that are described in a abstract fashion. I'm not assuming that you are writing it as an advertisement, but it really comes off like one. • ∈nigma • (talk) 22:17, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
I can understand what you are saying about the "Award Winning" statement and I will go ahead and fix that. For the Specifications I am not too sure about them, I basically copied them from my source and tried to edit out the marketing termonology that it used. If you have a suggestion on how to phrase it I am open for suggestions, but I do not want to stray too far from the reference as it then may not be applicable. Thank you for your help in this matter. --Ballplyr86 (talk) 17:18, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
I was interested so I looked around and saw that the specs were a copypasta from their site, but I don't think we can use that outside of a quote at all as its on the same page as "Buy Now, Click Here" and related things. (Nowhere close to a neutral POV). I would recommend using descriptions from reviews, possibly replacing the specifications list with a section about its features and (if any) downsides to those.
On the matter of the beginning statements; I think it should go along the lines of "Screenflow is a video-audio recording and editing software from Telestream. ~info about its recording types then finally ending with how it is for Mac~ And move the info about its reviews and ect to a criticism section. • ∈nigma • (talk) 19:10, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
Go ahead and take a look at the page now, I have taken out a lot of the advertising type language, at least all that I could recognize. At this point I think it is a valid page, but i would like to hear what you think on this matter, thanks. --Ballplyr86 (talk) 16:33, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
I renamed the specifications section and made the list a quote linking to the source. The page seems fine so I took off the advert template. • ∈nigma • (talk) 20:53, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
