Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

I was interested in putting this pic (Image:Philadelphia skyline August 2007.jpg) up for featured picture nomination, but it just falls under the size requirement. Do you have a larger copy of that picture, anything 1000px or larger? I'm not sure if you took the pic at this resolution, but if you shrunk it, please post the larger one, because I think it has a change of featured picture status! Hey, note: The lead image of this article has changed. You may join the discussion on this article's talk page, whether you prefer the new or old lead image. A majority of votes will decide, which picture becomes the lead image in the end. Reverting the lead image now is pointless. This has been done under section I3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only," "non-derivative use" or "used with permission," it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. [1], and it was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19, or is not used in any articles. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:
state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
