Welcome

[edit]

Hello, Emogenet, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you created was Emmanuel Mogenet, which appears to be an article about yourself. This is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.

The page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

The article Emmanuel Mogenet has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Notice

The article Emmanuel Mogenet has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Was likely created by WP:COI subject. Unclear notability from WP:BIO. Brief mention of subject in RS doesn't pass WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Dear Morbidthoughts,
I just realized I was emailed by wikimedia about the deletion of the Wikipedia page "Emmanuel Mogenet" (which is indeed about myself).
First I am not very familiar with the rules that decide what is and isn't a valid Wikipedia page, and would appreciate you letting me know what can be done to possibly revert things (or if indeed I do even meet the criteria to have a Wikipedia page).
Second, regarding the conflict of interest: I was definitely not the person who authored this page, nor do I believe anyone working at Google - where I worked at the time - created the page (as it is I believe against Google's policy).
Third, the page was somewhat recently edited to reflect (and also highlight) my current activities at Daedalean by someone against my wishes (he mentioned it to me after doing it). I believe the previous version of the page, which mostly mentioned things I'd done while at Google was a better representation of my achievements. I have the previous version archived somewhere if that can help.
Finally, regarding the concerns of missing biography, there are a number of press sources and articles I can send you that may fit your requirements, I'd be happy to dig them up and send them to you if you believe this deletion is worth reversing.
Please let me know.
Kind regards,
- Emmanuel 109.202.206.103 (talk) 17:22, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
