'Something Cool' Emily boston (talk) 12:28, 9 February 2016 (UTC)

I am OBSESSED with 'tasty' on facebook/twitter. I know its become quite common but honestly, it's for the best. The world should know about these tasty food videos. It encourages our generation to cook more because of this intriguing trend. I have found that an increasing number of my peers are learning to cook simply because they have seen things they want to try o pages like these. It has done a great job at creating a desire in these people that had not been there before.

This is the link to the Facebook Page: https://en-gb.facebook.com/buzzfeedtasty/

There is also a UK version called 'Proper Tasty' (which I follow as well), that posts more recipes commonly sought after in the UK. Just found this great recipe for Apple Pie bites on that one https://www.facebook.com/buzzfeedpropertasty/videos/1753341951545144/?fref=nf

      • Highly Recommend y'all watch every video

Hi Emily! Great recommendation! I have seen a few of these videos before on various social media platforms and I have stopped to watch a few of them. I looked up more of the videos and recipes and I am absolutely hooked. Some of the recipes seem really modern and appeal to youth because they take a fun twist on old classic recipes. While some of the recipes may seem too complicated or Im just too lazy to do the whole recipe, they do spark many cooking ideas for me. I agree with you that these videos can spark a love for cooking in many people. I am excited to try out a few of these recipes this semester. Thanks for sharing!Hlat123 (talk) 19:41, 9 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I love these videos too! I go to school in Worcester so I fully understand the American enthusiasm for the Tasty videos. It's interesting - do you think the sharing of these videos prompt more people to cook? That's sort of a technological-determinism argument, don't you think? I tend to use them a lot since I've gotten to Scotland, especially the easier ones. Cooking is a great way to calm down and destress after a long day and I love trying new things. I'm excited to look at some of the videos you embedded! Thanks for sharing. (Especially the ribs.) Hfk667 (talk) 11:44, 10 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Emily!! I love these videos. It seems like every time I'm on Facebook one pops up. They are also easy to share to my friends walls and on my news feed for everyone to see! I have gotten together with some family and cooked a couple of the dishes. These videos are just one example of how social media is a great way to share information and bring people together. I am not a good cook and sometimes long detailed cooking instructions can be confusing. These videos are easy and fun, and a good way to show how the product should look throughout the cooking process. I am obsessed with the mac and cheese bites! Thanks for sharing. Hey Emily! I also watch these videos, because you can learn easily how to cook amazing things! I always watch them but I not always share. Above all I think they're great too! Let's try something different. Have you seen this one? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVepxnpVvCk Enjoy! Nuriaj95 (talk) 13:21, 19 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
