Speedy deletion nomination of Canton Drop Forge
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Canton Drop Forge requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. shoy (reactions) 13:02, 11 August 2016 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Canton Drop Forge
[edit]The article Canton Drop Forge has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. shoy (reactions) 14:54, 16 August 2016 (UTC)
help me!
[edit]I need some guidance on this. The information that we have is from an unpublished source. There is not much on the web about Canton Drop Forge, which is why I thought the page should be created. They have been innovators in forging during important times in history so I thought they were relevant. How do I fix this? I'm pretty new to Wikipedia but I want to contribute.
This help request has been answered. If you need more help, you can , contact the responding user(s) directly on their user talk page, or consider visiting the Teahouse. |
- If it's unpublished, it's not a reliable source. We need reliable sources for an article on Wikipedia. ThePlatypusofDoom (talk) 14:20, 17 August 2016 (UTC)
That is the problem. They don't have much. I contacted them and they sent me a document with information. Does that mean they won't be able to have a page?
This help request has been answered. If you need more help, you can , contact the responding user(s) directly on their user talk page, or consider visiting the Teahouse. |
If that's all they have, yes. Also, if you are paid by this group, please disclose it, per WP:PAID. ThePlatypusofDoom (talk) 15:43, 17 August 2016 (UTC)
Two things, where do I disclose that? And, is there a way to delay this? I'm working on getting a reliable source? Thank you for helping me.

- I would just rewrite the article from scratch, and let it be deleted. Also, you disclose that on your user page. ThePlatypusofDoom (talk) 18:20, 17 August 2016 (UTC)
Thank You. I appreciate the help. EmilyOBX (talk) 18:53, 17 August 2016 (UTC)

I don't understand. I did what was suggested and provided more references.
- Here's the thing; there's not yet enough substance to suggest the company is notable; thus I would wait until the company has advanced at least a few years. SwisterTwister talk 17:16, 25 August 2016 (UTC)

They've been around since 1903. I have a lot of information on my end but I didn't want to add more if it's going to get deleted.
- I'd recommend userfying the article so you can work on it in your user space and then move it to article space once it meets our article requirements. --Treknerd(Cameron11598) (Converse) 18:40, 25 August 2016 (UTC)

Ok, so if I add more substantial information about them, what else do I need?
- If you can, yes. If not, you can add it at your sandbox, User:EmilyOBX/Sandbox. We specifically need in-depth third-party sources such as news. SwisterTwister talk 19:57, 25 August 2016 (UTC)

References
[edit]Remember that when adding content about health, please only use high-quality reliable sources as references. We typically use review articles, major textbooks and position statements of national or international organizations (There are several kinds of sources that discuss health: here is how the community classifies them and uses them). WP:MEDHOW walks you through editing step by step. A list of resources to help edit health content can be found here. The edit box has a built-in citation tool to easily format references based on the PMID or ISBN. We also provide style advice about the structure and content of medicine-related encyclopedia articles. The welcome page is another good place to learn about editing the encyclopedia. If you have any questions, please feel free to drop me a note. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 04:48, 28 April 2017 (UTC)

Request reason:
I have made several contributions that I don't feel are spammy. Some are from the same website but I believed I provided a citation that was relevant. Are you able to give me specifics on which ones are not reliable sources?
Decline reason:
I'm sorry, Emily, but it didn't take much poking about to see that you've failed to be transparent here. I have not contacted the blocking administrator to see if they've run across the same issues, but I would suggest an unblock request that complies explicitly with WP:PAID. You'll also need to pledge to avoid overtly promotional activities. Kuru (talk) 18:56, 28 April 2017 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- There are a bunch more issues here. If a fellow admin wishes me to send further evidence please email me. WMF is looking into some aspects of the case. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 17:36, 28 April 2017 (UTC)
Yes I understand as this was something that I am personally taking responsibility for. no one will be using this page again or any in the future.
