Information icon Hello, Emily.FCS. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the article Fremont Christian School, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your circle, your organization, its competitors, projects or products;
  • instead propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Meters (talk) 18:05, 18 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright problem icon Your addition to Fremont Christian School has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material, including text or images from print publications or from other websites, without an appropriate and verifiable license. All such contributions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Meters (talk) 18:05, 18 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This is disruptive. It appears that you are also User:Embilina, in which case you have already been warned twice about copyright violations. Now you state that you work for the college. It does not matter. Wikipedia cannot host material which may be under copyright. If you had read the links previously provided to you you would know that, and you would also know what steps you have to follow to grant us permission to use the material, assuming that you have the right to do so. And even if you grant Wikipedia permission to use the material it does not mean that the material will be used. This is an encyclopedia, not your college's website. Neutral, non-trivial information is welcome, but the article is not here to promote your school or to serve as your head's bio.
Since you work for the school, you have a conflict of interest and should not be directly editing this article. Please read the links provided and follow the instructions for disclosing your conflict of interest and for discussing any proposed edits. Meters (talk) 18:05, 18 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please also read WP:MOSHEAD. There's a reason why your non-standard header formatting was undone by a bot, and again by me. Meters (talk) 18:15, 18 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi User:Meters -

I'm very new to using Wikipedia in terms of editing. I'm having a hard time figuring everything out and I don't mean to violate any policies. I work for the school, Fremont Christian School, and it was requested that I update the information and make sure it's current and relevant. My employers were originally asking that the content on the Wiki page be the same as the website - I'm now understanding that this isn't a really possibility. This is all so confusing and I'm not even sure if this message will get to you.

I'm not trying to be offensive; I'm just trying to do what I've been told. Is the information that is currently on the Wikipedia page acceptable?

I'll be leaving the content alone now, since what's currently there summarizes the school history and current history.

Thanks.

It's a common problem, and not a big deal if you follow the rules. Have whoever has the rights to the material contact Wikipedia id you want us to be able to use the material from your website, and suggest any proposed changes on the article's talk page rather than making them yourself. Some of the info in the article is still too closely paraphrased so I'll rework it in the next day or so. I you have nay questions leave me a note on my talk page. Meters (talk)
