[edit]Hello, I'm Serols. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to Ivan Aivazovsky—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. Serols (talk) 15:42, 11 July 2022 (UTC)
Hi Serols! Since Feodosia, Crimes is a current Ukrainian territory, I feel it is necessary to mention him as Ukrainian artist in order to prevent cultural appropriation. Indian artwork is not considered to be British, despite India was part of British Empire. Same goes for Ukraine. Elmo1111 (talk) 18:11, 11 July 2022 (UTC)
- Calling Aivazovsky Ukrainian is clearly a cultural appropriation. Crimea has been a Ukrainian territory only since 1954. Ymblanter (talk) 20:31, 11 July 2022 (UTC)
So, people who leave there now should surrender their cultural heritage to Moscow just because it was under their empire at the time the artist lived its colony? What about other empires, American and Indian art is British if I was during British rule? Elmo1111 (talk) 23:00, 11 July 2022 (UTC)
- Would you please stop talking trash and start studying Wikipedia policies. And your knowledge of history can be improved as well. Does the article on Johannes Gutenberg for example describe him as a French printer? Ymblanter (talk) 21:35, 12 July 2022 (UTC)
Looks like you feel it is much more appropriate to attack me personally than address issues and questions I was asking. I have not been talking "trash" to you or diverting the topic towards your personality, like you just did to me. I can't help but think that you must be non-objective in this matter. Are you Russian by any chance? Elmo1111 (talk) 22:09, 12 July 2022 (UTC)
- I did address the issue but you have preferred not to listen. Ymblanter (talk) 05:55, 13 July 2022 (UTC)
