Great Western pub sign - Bloye?

[edit]

Hi Ellrbrown. Re List of public art in Birmingham. Are you sure that the stone pub sign :File:Great Western pub - Acocks Green, Birmingham - sculpture of a bird.jpg on the Great Western pub, Acocks Green is by William Bloye? I cannot find it so described anywhere on Google or the most likely book: Public Sculpture of Birmingham including Sutton Coldfield by George T. Noszlopy. Best wishes.   Oosoom Talk  12:28, 6 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Oosoom, I didn't know anything about it when I took the photo 5 years ago! Hope Andy finds out about it! Ellrbrown (talk) 16:48, 6 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I suspect there is no information readily available.   Oosoom Talk  17:35, 6 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Birmingham artworks

[edit]

Great work on the list! Thank you. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 22:17, 10 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Andy! Some of the photos you uploaded to Wikimedia didn't have categories so I've added some. Also you uploaded a duplicate with the Bearwood Interchange. Ellrbrown (talk) 22:21, 10 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure about adding Stourbridge though (as it is a bit far from the M5 / M6 / M42 boundary) Ellrbrown (talk) 22:25, 10 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have now created:

and can do the same for Dudley, Walsall and Wolverhampton when required. We already have List of public art in Coventry. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 14:40, 6 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Andy. Think Dudley has a lot. Including what is in Stourbridge. Ellrbrown (talk) 17:02, 6 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If you created the Dudley, Walsall and Wolverhampton lists when you can, I could at least add the artworks that I've seen. Not been to Wolverhampton yet, but have got photos from Dudley, Stourbridge and Walsall. Ellrbrown (talk) 16:13, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

List of public art in Walsall. Will do the others later. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 23:38, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Will look at them later. Might have to upload photos from my Flickr. (of Walsall, Coventry, Dudley and Stourbridge) Ellrbrown (talk) 09:13, 9 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Also List of public art in Dudley. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 09:52, 9 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks again! Ellrbrown (talk) 14:06, 9 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Feel free to set up the Wolverhampton list. No rush. Have visited the city centre at the weekend. Ellrbrown (talk) 23:23, 9 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Done: List of public art in Wolverhampton. I look forward to seeing your pictures. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 11:21, 10 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Andy! Still got to put the rest of them up on my Flickr first! Wolverhampton will include Wednesfield and Bilston. Ellrbrown (talk) 19:11, 10 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe! I'll stick to public art at the moment. Have got photos on my Flickr of some Birmingham Police stations (not all). And Grade I and II* listed buildings. Thought those lists had gone (the listed buildings ones - couldn't find them recently on a search) Ellrbrown (talk) 21:17, 11 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Some of them already have a lot of my photos already (might have added them myself) Ellrbrown (talk) 21:19, 11 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Police stations

[edit]

Hi – I've just noticed the nomination for deletion of List of police stations in the West Midlands (which has been closed, and the article has been kept); just to let you know that yesterday when looking for something else I found the following report on the Historic England website: Police Stations of England 1850–1995. There may be some useful material in there to expand the article. Cheers, Hassocks5489 (Floreat Hova!) 09:09, 8 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
