Irony on deletion of pages I started

[edit]

The user who nominated 4 of articles I started for deletion, 3 of which are gone from Wikipedia, has left Wikipedia because people don't do his/her bidding. lol.

This happened all in a few days back in 2010.

The user left in 2016 after a lot of challenged nominations for deletion. Keep this in mind please when judging that I've had pages deleted. The user is Kindzmarauli and left this message when bailing: "Wikipedia is not a reference source, but a power game where people collude to OWN articles and push POV." Here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Kindzmarauli ElizaBarrington (talk) 19:43, 7 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

userfied version of a deleted article

I have nominated Bomb (band), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bomb (band). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Kindzmarauli (talk) 05:21, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

August 2010

[edit]

Please do not attack other editors, as you did at Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Michael_W._Dean. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Kindzmarauli (talk) 17:41, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. Kindzmarauli (talk) 18:10, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

An assist, if you might..

[edit]

It is unfortunate that $30 Film School was deleted last August, just as was the article on Michael W. Dean. I have had the former userfied to me at User:MichaelQSchmidt/sandbox/$30 Film School and have already made srtrides in showing it as passing WP:BOOKS, but I am hoping you can help. What is needed to make its return a lock is being able to source it as being used in film schools across the country and even around the world as part of curriculae on filmmaking... without using sales sites as souces. Can you assist in such sourcing? As for the article on Dean, I have come across his name in many reliable sources, and so feel I can resurrect that article as well... and after $30 Film School will be tackiling that problem. Without having the article yet userfied (pending), my sense from reading the AFD discussion about Dean is that the article tone was inappropriate and the sources lacking. It seems you put up a defense, but perception on style seemed to be of greatest concern. Let's source the book first and then worry about the author. Thanks, Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 05:50, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to help, but I'm tired of fighting the new editors on Wikipedia. I've been on here for years, the new guys have a "slash and burn" style, and I get burnt out dealing with them. Good luck and thank you! Liza ElizaBarrington (talk) 08:25, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I am glad that you do at least still check in, and responded to my note.... as I had observed that you seemed to stop editing last August, and I was afraid that you had been chased off the project. I understand your being tired of "fighting" to create content, and yes... it seems that some editors act as if Wikipedia's servers and database is completely full, or that Wikipedia is now complete and has no room for any more articles. Of course... there are also folks in this world that believe I Love Lucy and Lavern and Shirley are real-life. I ask you to look HERE and see some 300+ articles represented... articles that some demanded be tossed as unsalvagable, but which proved to be emminently improvable.... as the best way to deal with those thinking Wikipedia is complete, is to prove them wrong.
So I came here to ask... just in case you might assist in sourcing. But no... I would not expect you to have to "fight" anyone anymore, and can well understand your feeling disheartened. I hope you might one day check back and smile upon the return of the articles you attempted to add. We're not all "slash and burners". Best, Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 19:26, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A belated welcome!

MMMMMM....cookies! Thank you for the warm yummy welcome. ElizaBarrington (talk) 04:07, 3 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your new thread in the talk page - it's great that you noticed this and dug a little farther. I trust the issue will be resolved.

I realise you wanted to distance yourself from North's theology, but calling him a "loon with religion" is not acceptable, particularly under Wikipedia's policies of Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons and Wikipedia:No personal attacks. I suggest you redact your comment. StAnselm (talk) 04:31, 3 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'll endorse StAnelm's comments and recommendation. But I do note you have done a fine job in setting up the discussion. Looking at your edit history, I see you've been around for a while, and I want to encourage more edits. So I'll post a service ribbon {{Burba_lv2_Ribbon}} for you to enjoy. Feel free to leave here, post on your user page, or delete. – S. Rich (talk) 04:40, 3 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What the heck has happened to Wikipedia???? There are actual helpful, kind editors on here now. Very different from what drove me off here a few years ago. Have I fallen into a parallel universe???? ElizaBarrington (talk) 05:09, 3 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Adrienne Lapalucci moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Adrienne Lapalucci, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Your draft article, Draft:Adrienne Lapalucci

[edit]

Hello, ElizaBarrington. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Adrienne Lapalucci".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! UnitedStatesian (talk) 06:47, 1 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Few things about this article:

  1. There is already {{unreferenced}} at the top of the page which covers all the issues that the citation neededs you added do, so those would be redundant.
  2. Also at the top of the page is my proposed deletion of the page, given that I couldn't find any useful coverage on the band. Unless that is disputed, the article will be deleted in a week. The citation neededs are pretty redundant to that as well so you didn't really need to add them at all. Not that it's a problem that you did – the initiative is appreciated – but just so you know in the future and don't waste your time on redundant edits like that.
  3. When adding citation needed, you should format it as {{citation needed}} so that is displays properly and links to the relevant policy page automatically, and so that a bot can find it and add the date after.

QuietHere (talk | contributions) 06:08, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, ok on the "already no citations"
And good to know the citation needed formatting. Thank you for your service! I'll remember that.
I'd vote to delete article this from outer space.
Except for one bad song on a compilation series with about 75 other (mostly somewhat known) bands, this band might as well have not existed. And the article seems to have maybe been written by someone close to the band.
Or in Wiki speak: NOT NOTABLE.
