- I posted an article Tom McEwen (sportswriter) .. When I first put it up there, I had sports writer, then changed it, then I did something and I'm not sure if the references came out right. Not sure what to do next.... (~~~~)Elissa McEwen (talk) 14:00, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
- The page you would probably be talking about is Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Tom McEwen (sports writer). The references seems all fine as there no broken tags there. The first line just had Tom McEwen (sportswriter) and some extra spaces which i have corrected and rest everything seems fine now :). Thanks! TheGeneralUser (talk) 22:24, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
I've added the missing {{Reflist}}, and fully cited the initial obituary. For press people, as their employer is an involved source, it is sometimes difficult to establish sufficient sourcing, although it seems, since it was picked up by cbssports & nhl.com, that shouldn't be an issue here. If you can put a [10] where you want that cite, I can come back to it later; such things are best done openly: 'Initially reported by his employer,[1] it was picked up nationally by cbssports and nhl.com.[2][3]'. This shows the initial involved reference (without trying to gloss over it), but also shows that it was considered worth broad disemination, sport-wide and by a national news organization. 17:33, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
