Thanks for the smiley
[edit]It is the first such recognition I have received in about 11 months and 6000 edits on Wikipedia. The smiley was once described as a frontal view of a PacMan. The Proto-emoticon. I also remember a werewolf movie, otherwise fairly serious, where the good guys snuck into his cabin and I noticed that the creature had a smiley face sticker on his the wall. Regards. No thanks
[edit]I don't need my talk page littered with stuff given out at random—I can always check my mailbox or email for people sending me stuff I didn't ask for or do anything to warrant receiving. This statement from the description is enough for me to know these are pointless:
- Since the Smileys are given out at random, it may sometimes happen that one is mistakenly given to an editor of bad reputation.

Not so random, please
[edit]Can we refrain from making it random? The good gesture may be accepted as spam, and in place of spreading wikilove it might end up spreading wikihate instead. Also, can you arrange to make space for signing the smiles we give away? The bots are trying to fill in the blanks, and messing them up. Aditya Kabir 12:08, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, nothing more anoying than having to stop what you where doing to check the talk page only to find a totaly pointles random message, even if it is a smiley. --Sherool (talk) 14:22, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
Sock-puppet
[edit]Since Pedia-I turned out to be a sock-puppet, someone else will have to host the Random Smiley Award Project, but who? Tcrow777 talk 05:32, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
- And shouldn't this page get moved then to that person's userspace? -WarthogDemon 22:39, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
Thanks, a bit belated
[edit]I personally appreciate the idea of the random act of smiling, and suffer no trauma from flashbacks to the 1970s. Well, not from the Have A Nice Day stickers, anyway. Thanks for the cheer! Deirdre (talk) 22:20, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
