License tagging for Image:2OrderPredationGraph.gif
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:2OrderPredationGraph.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 17:05, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
Re: (New World) Pleistocene exctinctions
[edit]Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! I ran across your contributions (well, really creations) of Pleistocene / New World Pleistocene extinctions. Thanks for starting such a thorough approach to this fascinating topic; real expert input is of the highest value here.
I'm afraid I had to do some non-minor edits to both of these articles, however, given particularly that the former seemed to be largely a duplicate of the latter. As they stand now, your italicized essay-sounding intro, while appropriate in the context of the Web page it is copied from, has been replaced by a simpler Wikipedia-style one. This is not meant to be anything against you or your writing, of course; see Template:essay-entry and What Wikipedia is not for more info. Meanwhile, the "non-New Word" one has been replaced with a stub on the subject and referent to the other one. As I'm not a paleontologist, feel free to correct my intros for factual errors or misnderstandings.
In addition, it's a good idea to format your contributions in a "wikified" style, rather than HTML. It happens that a WikiBot caught that and added a wikification tag, which will remain there until someone with more time than I shifts all the HTML to Wiki style. (Please don't feel bad about creating more work and don't think that you necessarily have to correct it yourself; in the end, you've still done a net good. Somewhere out there is someone who takes an inherent joy in formatting things; that's the beauty of community editing.)
If you have any questions, feel free to talk to me or post them on the relevant talkpage. Best of luck/enjoyment in your research and academic career.--Lenoxus 03:44, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia, ElinWhitneySmith! I am Awickert and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. Source info for Extinctions Africa Austrailia NAmerica Madagascar.gif
[edit]I recently sent you an email because I wasn't sure if you would check your talk page very often. Just in case, I'm posting this question here.
I am currently trying to use File:Extinctions Africa Austrailia NAmerica Madagascar.gif on the new article Subfossil lemur. However, the source cited when you uploaded the image is a bit ambiguous, and honestly, I would like to create a new version of the file in SVG format so we can have something of higher quality than GIF format. In order to do that, I need to know the exact data the graph was based off of as well as the exact source (including page number, table number, etc.). I will try emailing you again and possibly try to track you down in the academic world in case your email address has changed and not been updated on Wiki. Please reply either in email, on my talk page, or here as soon as you read this. – VisionHolder « talk » 18:25, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
The file File:ClimateChange2op.gif has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
unused, low-res, no obvious use
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
Also:
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 29 May 2019 (UTC)
