Welcome to Wikipedia!

[edit]

Hello, Elie555121, and welcome to Wikipedia!

Thank you for experimenting with our encyclopedia. The test edit you made to Servis worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you may want to do.

Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or type {{helpme}} here on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome! Michael Anon 20:43, 2 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Concord Home appliances, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.beirut.com/l/9966.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) I have deleted this page because it contained a direct copy of text from http://www.beirut.com/l/9966. Please do not copy and paste text from other websites to Wikipedia but try to write articles using your own words. That being said, the website does not seem to be a reliable source. For recreating the article, please try to find sources like in-depth coverage by newspapers and magazines or books, not a directory website. Thank you. Hello Elie555121,

It seems to me that an article you worked on, Khoury home, may be copied from http://www.khouryhome.com/pages/about-us. It's entirely possible that I made a mistake, but I wanted to let you know because Wikipedia is strict about copying from other sites.

It's important that you edit the article and rewrite it in your own words, unless you're absolutely certain nothing in it is copied. If you're not sure how to fix the problem or have any questions, there are people at the help desk who are happy to assist you.

Thank you for helping build a free encyclopedia! CorenSearchBot (talk) 15:48, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your addition has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text, or images borrowed from other websites, or printed material without a verifiable license; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of article content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. De728631 (talk) 15:53, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:Candy logo from 2006.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Candy logo from 2006.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mdann52 (talk) 08:29, 7 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Servis quartz 6033.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Servis quartz 6033.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Peripitus (Talk) 09:49, 7 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

all images deleted (except the logo)

[edit]

Elie555121, I have deleted all of the images you have uploaded. You haven't responded to any of the above messages and are still uploading images that fail the first of the non-free content criteria. Can you please take time to read the criteria before uploading more images. Wikipedia does not generally accept copyrighted (non-free) images of extant objects like home appliances - a free image could always be created of these - Peripitus (Talk) 12:47, 8 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Servis quartz 1000 autowasher.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Servis quartz 1000 autowasher.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:31, 17 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Last warning

[edit]

Elie555121, Yet again you have uploaded more of the (c) Servis images and apparently not noticed that I have deleted all the others and left you a note about it. Please let me make this clear. Wikipedia does not accept copyrighted images of physical objects (like whitegoods) except under some rather rare circumstances. Please stop uploading these images until you have understood the non-free content guidelines. For physical objects that still exist it has long been the consensus here that a free image could be taken so we do not host non-free images of these objects - Peripitus (Talk) 10:34, 17 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Answer to question

[edit]

I've added images which are none-free as I didn't but Servis did!Wouuld you like me to explain what None-free is?I provided who is the author is and u still like hitting the delete button! If u want ur conscience to be relaxed give ur email so u can upload the pics urself!— Preceding unsigned comment added by Elie555121 (talkcontribs)

Elie555121, the issue is that Wikipedia will not host the images you are uploading. You are providing the correct details (author, source, licence) but that is not the issue. The issue is that they are copyrighted (what Wikipedia calls non-free) images of physical objects and we don't use these images. The only solution is to find one of the machines, take a new photograph, and upload it here under a free licence (see Definition of Free Cultural Works for such licences). You could take the photo, you could get someone else to take them, or you could find an image that someone has taken and convince them to release it under a free licence. Servis owns their images and only they have the right to copy them. If you could convince the copyright holder ( I assume that this is now Vestel of Turkey ) to release the images under a free licence that would also work. Just repeating again - the images you are uploading cannot and will not be hosted here, as they can be replaced with freely licenced images (see Definition of Free Cultural Works). If you find such images I am more than happy to upload them or check them out for you - Peripitus (Talk) 23:55, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Demi Lovato in X factor auditions Texas.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Demi Lovato in X factor auditions Texas.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. DMacks (talk) 07:33, 24 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File:Servis logo 2012.png missing description details

[edit]
Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as:

is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the image, and it will be more informative to readers.
