Athens metro

[edit]

Officially there is no "Athens Metro system" which includes ISAP and AM/AMEL. For now there are two separate and unrelated urban railway companies. One is ISAP, an OASA subsidiary, which owns and operates the so-called "Line 1". The other is AMEL, a subsidiary of Attiko Metro (not connected to OASA), which opeates Lines 2 and 3 (on tracks owned by Attiko Metro and OSE). There is no corporate, business, managerial or other connection between the Metro companies and ISAP. The link between the two articles is in Athens Mass Transit System. The two systems may merge in the near future, but for the time being they are unrelated.

"Just because people in Athens believe so..." is not a good reason to add inaccurate information. This type of inaccuracy may be tolerated on el-wiki, but not here. SV1XV (talk) 17:57, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I am greek, I know quite a few things about railways and I understand very well the situation. For my own personal reasons I chose not to be very active in the Greek Wikipedia.
The content of Wikipedia articles (at least the english version) is about verifiable realities (railway networks, train operating companies etc), not about perceptions (non-existing entities in peoples' minds). You may want to believe that in Athens, Greece, there is something called "Athens Metro" with 3 lines. However this "Athens Metro" thing (which includes ISAP and AM/AMEL) exists only in the minds of uninformed people and journalists. There is no company, joint venture or other entity under this name or performing this function under any other name. You may well live with it, even enforce it on the Greek Wikipedia, but please, don't do it here.

Moving article

[edit]

In addition to adding false information to articles, you have created a mess by copying the content of Athens Metro to Attiko Metro and then replacing it with a redirect. As a result, you left the talk page behind, in Talk:Athens Metro. The correct method to rename an article is to use the "Move" command, available in the pull-down menu, next to the star. Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you must sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 20:05, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thessaloniki Metro

[edit]

The edit you made to that article is not really justified; the 'image' section in the Template:Infobox public transit is for use by a logo or in some cases a photograph. Additionally, there already is a map of the metro system in the infobox, if you click "show" it expands. --Philly boy92 (talk) 19:25, 23 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I've mostly reverted your recent edit to Railways of Greece, as "Section headings should not themselves contain links" (WP:MOSLINK, which also encourages the use of the {{main}} tags instead). Tim PF (talk) 14:11, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting your talk page

[edit]

As a general rule, Wikipedia does not delete user talk pages. However, you may leave it blank if you wish. -- Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 17:34, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
