British spelling of medieval
[edit]Hi, I saw your comments, this has been a general source of confusion, so I hope dont mind I created this page: Wikipedia:WikiProject Middle Ages/British spelling of Medieval as a forum to discuss and reference. It effects many articles and theres been no definitive answer and your the first to provide some knowleged guidence on this. Stbalbach 19:51, 21 October 2005 (UTC)
ACT politicians
[edit]Thanks for the stuff you've been doing on ACT politicians; it's been a while since I gave this area some attention, and no one much else seems to. Paul Osborne and Kerrie Tucker were particularly good, and the copyedit of Roslyn Dundas is appeciated. :) Ambi 23:28, 4 November 2005 (UTC)
Lake Burley Griffin
[edit]Could you please be careful with your edits to articles that are already at featured article level. You might have noticed that the references on Lake Burley Griffin are in a bullet pointed alphabetical order list. Sure numerical list in order would be better (though both are acceptable wikipedia styles), but please don't add numbers without going to the effort of making sure the references are in the correct order. --Martyman-(talk) 06:14, 7 November 2005 (UTC)
- Apologies for the mistake. However, although my edit was clumsy, it's fundamentally bad style to use numbered references if you then do not have a numbered references list. If that's a mistake on Wikipedia's side, then that's quite unfortunate. El T 13:06, 7 November 2005 (UTC)
- I agree, and the more recent articles I have been writing I have been using numbered reference lists, unfortunatly this causes a lot of problems when editing. Moving text around the article becomes a pain in the arse if you have to re-check the references everytime you move something. The Lake Burley Griffin article almost definatly should be upgraded to a numbered reference list but unfortunatly this is not a purely trivial execise. --Martyman-(talk) 13:34, 7 November 2005 (UTC)

Erronous entry in Template:UKHBS
[edit]Hi, the template you created states "History of Britain" so Ireland really does not belong there. Your thoughts? Superdude99 18:19, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
- I just fixed the colours and spelling of medieval, and I'm not an expert on British, or Irish, history. I'm not sure what you would do about Ireland. I suppose it probably does need to be included since Ireland was a state, not a colony, and hence part of Britain proper. But I wouldn't try to stop anyone wanting to remove it, so long as it wasn't just an attempt to impose Irish nationalism on the article. El T 08:45, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

SVG???
[edit]How did you upload a SVG format? It said: '".svg" is not a recommended image file format.' Can you heklp me by telling me why by posting it [1] here?
- I couldn't edit the web page that you directed me to, so sorry about that. I've never had any problems uploading SVG images. I didn't want to try to upload a meaningless image to test it out, so I tried to upload a file with an invalid licence. It seems to be working fine. Perhaps post a screenshot so we can see what it's saying. El T 14:35, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
MPL tables on election pages
[edit]Hi there! I must admit, your tables look far easier on the eye, however I must insist on changing it because it's not the standard used for all federal and state elections that have an MPL table. However, if you want to invest the time changing all the federal and state election pages, I wouldn't be against that :-) Timeshift 12:22, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
- I agree. I'll see about putting together a template to standardise the appearance from a central point. El T 15:15, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
Population Curve Graph
[edit]I am trying to find a reasonable estimate of population growth since the accepted date of the advent of Homo sapiens 200,000 years ago.
Would it be possible for you to extend the numbers used in your Population Curve graph to 200,000 years ago?
- I didn't gather the data, so unfortunately no. You may need to do some hunting online to find a source. El T 06:22, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
Hi! Great job with this graph. Looks very nice. Could you, however, provide one with a logarithmic scale? This would make easier seeing the significant relative changes in population. With the linear graph one can mostly make the observation that first there was very little growth, then suddenly there was nothing but growtgh. --128.214.205.5 13:41, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Emi logo.svg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Emi logo.svg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it may be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 13:04, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Image:Demographic change in Sweden 1735-2000.gif
[edit]A tag has been placed on Image:Demographic change in Sweden 1735-2000.gif requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Australian population growth graph
[edit]Hi, I removed from the article Demographics of Australia because the rates shown in the graph look implausibly high and do not match the source data presented below - e.g. from 1980-2000 the source data shows growth rates of 1-2% but the graph is consistently over 4%. Is there an error in the axis label or something? --GenericBob (talk) 08:44, 29 April 2012 (UTC)
