No war between 2011 and 2014?
[edit]"The United States officially withdrew from the country in 2011, but became re-involved in 2014 at the head of a new coalition."
This sentence suggests, that there has been no war between 2011 and 2014 respectively no US involvement during that time. This doesn't seem to be correct. --Raphael1 17:07, 20 March 2017 (UTC)
- Just because the United States wasn't directly involved in that time frame doesn't mean the war wasn't still going. Charles Essie (talk) 19:44, 20 March 2017 (UTC)
- Its fact. The US left the conflict in 2011 and returned again into it in 2014. In-between there was a low-level insurgency for which there is a separate article. EkoGraf (talk) 12:36, 23 March 2017 (UTC)
- Well, the insurgency wasn‘t really that „low-level“ at that time (2012/2013). In fact it was the worst since 2006/2007. [1]--Raphael1 19:44, 7 March 2020 (UTC)
- Deadliest since 2006/07, but not at the level of 2006/07 (when thousands were being killed on a monthly basis). In any case, like @Charles Essie: and me said, we have a dedicated article to the 2012-13 period of the Iraq conflict. Plus, we also now have an overarching article for the whole conflict since 2003 up to the present broken down by phases (including 2012-13). And again, its fact the US withdrew from the country and became re-engaged almost three years later when ISIL almost overran the country. EkoGraf (talk) 22:17, 7 March 2020 (UTC)

It's time
[edit]@EkoGraf: We've long had consensus to create an umbrella article for the ongoing fourteen-year-long war in Iraq. I know that you're draft isn't complete but I think it's time to convert it into a page. It could then be completed afterwards because a page can attract more editors than a draft. Charles Essie (talk) 16:44, 22 June 2017 (UTC)
- @Charles Essie: Yeah, sorry about that, started a second job a few weeks ago and was really busy juggling the two. Managed to make several edits here and there, but not enough time to develop a large article such as the umbrella one we wanted. EkoGraf (talk) 06:10, 23 June 2017 (UTC)
- @EkoGraf: You don't need to do it yourself. It may not be finished but it doesn't have to be. Many articles are unfinished when there first created. You could move this to an article title of your choice, set up some links to it and more editors will come to help complete it. Charles Essie (talk) 17:43, 23 June 2017 (UTC)
- @EkoGraf: Sorry to bother you about this again but I was hoping I could get your opinion on my above proposal. Charles Essie (talk) 02:04, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
