I am reviewing the Wikipedia:Manual of Style to address the issues raised there, one by one.
Wikipedia quality standards
[edit]More than one style
[edit]"Where more than one style or format is acceptable under the MoS, one should be used consistently within an article and should not be changed without good reason. Edit warring over stylistic choices is unacceptable.[a]"
My comment: No problem here. I started with one acceptable style, which was kept by other contributors, who mostly shortened the article, rather than changed the style I adopted.
Retaining existing styles
[edit]"When either of two styles is acceptable it is generally considered inappropriate for a Wikipedia editor to change from one style to another unless there is some substantial reason for the change.[b]"
"Edit-warring over style, or enforcing optional style in a bot-like fashion without prior consensus, is never acceptable.[a][c] "
My comment: Again, no problem here.
Notes
[edit]- ^ a b These matters have been addressed in rulings of ArbCom in 2005, 2006, 2009, and 2015.
- ^ For the origin of this phrasing, see ArbCom decisions in June 2005, November 2005, and 2006
- ^ See 2017 ArbCom decision, and Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser § Rules of use; bot-like editing that continues despite objections or that introduces errors may lead to a block and to revocation of semi-automated tools privileges.
