Beyonce 4
Hi. Are you fine? Have you heard 4 leaked? Did you listen to the songs? Jivesh • Talk2Me 11:58, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
- Hi jivesh. Im doing good. Though cortisol level at times get high. Anyway, I have not heard of it. I have listened to Run and Best, so far. How about you? --Efe (talk) 12:01, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
- I hope it is not so serious. I am fine, thank you. I have listened to the whole album on YouTube but most of the tracks have been removed. I am so happy Beyonce did not turn into generic pop music. She recorded mostly ballads. And i swear that this is her best album even if it does not perform well commercially. I love "I Miss You". Do you buy albums? Or do you download them form certain free sites? Jivesh • Talk2Me 12:04, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
- No. Just stress from working too much. hehe. I buy albums, though I have sort of stopped (got other priorities) temporarily. But you know sometimes the best edition don't get into the shelves here. But nonetheless I buy. --Efe (talk) 12:10, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

- Ah okay. So if ever you are not able to buy it, i can give you a website from where you can download the album. Actually, i live in Mauritius. We do not have iTunes and nor do i have a credit card. My parents will not give me one so soon. Lol. May i know why you stopped dropping by frequently? Is it because of your work? Jivesh • Talk2Me 12:13, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
- Sure. Yeah. And although I have computer at our house, we don't have connection. Before when I was in college, I edit almost everyday because I got the resources (computer with connection for free) and time. Now, I am working. I don't even get a social life here. haha. So stressful. But you know, I just started last year so that should not be a problem, I mean my not getting time to socialize. Nevertheless, I appreciate my having a job. How about you? --Efe (talk) 12:17, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

- Are you from the US? Well i am still at college. Last year. I do Chemistry, Physics, French, Mechanics, Pure Maths, Statistics and G.P. I am having exams this year in November and December. As for the rest, i do not need to tell you i am a die-hard fan of Beyonce. I sped most of my free time editing Beyonce articles. Already taken most of them to GA and i have expanded those you took to GA because someone (i cannot tell you who) was criticizing their status, qualifying them as not GA-worthy. This time, i admit, i am a bit afraid for the Queen B as her album leaked three weeks before its release and three weeks is a big deal. Concerning the first part of your message, did you mean i can send you the link? Jivesh • Talk2Me 12:24, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
- My edits / articles really need help from native speakers. That's probably why those were criticized. I am from the Philippines. And my grammar is not that perfect, or at least on that level that could satisfy those critics. Yeah, sure, do you have it now? --Efe (talk) 12:33, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

B'Day
Hi. Very happy to see you around more often. I thought of working on B'Day but Adabow started working on it and he did a great job. I do not like working with other people on the same article. So that's why i did not interfere. But i have already told him that if it fails again, then i will take it to GA. Jivesh • Talk2Me 14:15, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
- Well, just getting some diversion. Like I have said, I'm getting too much stress. Somehow I count as one. I do not like too but that depends on the person you're working with. Great to have you guys. Thanks thanks thanks. --Efe (talk) 14:18, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
- Oh that's so nice of you. You know i have often been criticized for focusing too much on Beyonce but i am proud to say, i came to Wikipedia for editing Beyonce articles only. When i do something, i like to do it with my heart (just like Beyonce says) and i know whatever i do for her, i do it with my heart. I love her a lot. Jivesh • Talk2Me 14:22, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
- Welcome. Don't be bothered by them. I also started as a "music writer" here, and mostly I wrote / edit Beyonce-related articles. But you know, you might want to edit articles too to diversify your Wikipedia-experience. hehe. --Efe (talk) 14:24, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
- Oh no, i completely happy with Beyonce but if i had to edit for some other artist, it would be................. I think Keri Hilson. Lol. Listen, i badly need to go now. So bye, take care. See you very soon. And don't stress up too much. Lol. Bye. Jivesh • Talk2Me 14:28, 15 June 2011 (UTC)

TEOM
Hey Efe. I see, so you wanted to make comments but couldn't because it would automatically make you the reviewer. Don't worry, I know the article is really long, so its is a tough review. Thanks a lot though for your help, I will read that section and get to those fixes. Hmm, I see what you're saying about Charmbracelet, I guess even though there is such a difference in between them, I'll try to remove the subject from one (the album is discussed in two lead paragraphs) on them so its less about that album. Anyways, thanks a lot Efe, and appreciate it! :D--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 14:53, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
- I just re-did the second paragraph in the lead, so its not just comparing it to CB. I thinks its much better now, tell me what you think :)--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 01:06, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
- Well, that should fare well in GAN. Hope to see the page in FAR. --Efe (talk) 04:19, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
B'Day
Hey! I am so glad you are back on Wikipedia, to whatever extent. You seem to like my favourite two artists - Beyonce and Usher - quite a bit too. :-) As for B'Day, it didn't really need much fixing up, just a few grammar errors and updates; most of the work is yours! Thanks for the offer to help, as well. Adabow (talk · contribs) 04:22, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
- Well, I did that Confessions thing because I reckon the album's great. Regardless, I like Usher's music. Sure. Welcome. --Efe (talk) 04:21, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- I think that you had the article structured fine, with details of individual songs under the 'Music' section, rather than the 'Singles' section. Most of the songs aren't actually singles, and the info is about their makeup, not individual release. Adabow (talk · contribs) 06:28, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- I was worried about the info on chart performance. Its under the section Music, and chart performance is not about music / composition. Whatcha think? --Efe (talk) 06:32, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- Hmm, I think we could remove some of that charts info, or move it to the singles section. Adabow (talk · contribs) 06:34, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- Okay, I'll try to finish this right away, and we'll see the outcome. --Efe (talk) 06:36, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

- I think four months ago or seven months ago, there was a section which gave details about the content of the album, that is, the songs' lyrical message, genres and instrumentals but i do not know where that section has disappeared. If i remember well, i re-added it once but someone removed it again. I cannot remember who that someone is but it was not an IP. I am sure of that. Jivesh • Talk2Me 06:36, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- I would have helped with this but this month and till till the 21st of July 2011, i have exams. Anyway, you are doing a great work. Jivesh • Talk2Me 06:38, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- All I can remember is the page had so much details. Nevertheless, core contents are still present. --Efe (talk) 06:44, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

- Yet, it makes me sad sometimes how IPs (haters i suppose) remove so much information. Jivesh • Talk2Me 06:47, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah. But the details weren't gone actually. This was the version when it was first listed as GA. So much to fix though: awkward grammar and all. --Efe (talk) 06:51, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

Re
It came from my heart my dear friend. What you do here is great because there are very very very few people on Wikipedia who like to copy-edit articles. You must have much patience. I frankly cannot see myself doing that. After i expanded "Crazy in Love" and all the other songs of Beyonce, i did not do a c/e. I asked some people to have a look but i think no one did so on "Crazy in Love". Lol.
P.S I am totally in love with 4. Jivesh • Talk2Me 15:55, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

- Seriously? I think "Party" will smash as a US-urban only single. And "Schoolin' Life" smells a crossover international hit to me. Beyonce is releasing "End of Time" as the third single. She is also shooting videos for all songs. I am so excited. What's your favorite song on 4? You can reply here itself if you want. Jivesh • Talk2Me 16:00, 30 July 2011 (UTC)
- Leave me a reply if you want. I have to go now. Goodnight and Sweet Dreams. Hope you know by who.. If no, just click on the link. Lol. See you. Take care. Jivesh • Talk2Me 16:08, 30 July 2011 (UTC)
The Most Excellent Order of the Caretaker's Star | |
For exceptional copyediting efforts on nearly all Beyonce's articles requiring immediate attention, Efe is presented with this exclusive, brilliant, Most Excellent Order of the Caretaker's Star. Your work is much appreciated and perhaps this is the best way to let you know that your work does not go by unnoticed. Jivesh • Talk2Me 18:27, 30 July 2011 (UTC) |
Thanks Jivesh. Well, first I thought it was Countdown. And for the record, I began liking the song when I saw you guys heavily editing its article. Then I bought the CD and heard "Lay Up Under Me". I like it in terms of music. I did a youtube searching today and was shocked hers was not the original version. --Efe (talk) 11:03, 31 July 2011 (UTC)
- You are welcome. It seems the producer gave it to hr. What you heard on YouTube (i know about it) is the producer's demo. Jivesh • Talk2Me 13:29, 31 July 2011 (UTC)

I'd appreciate any feedback you might have at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Here We Go Again (Ray Charles song)/archive1.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 01:57, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

- Did you forget about me?--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 17:32, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
- Specifically, either here or at the forthcoming PR, I will need some feedback on whether what I have added on the original version is helpful. I am unable to find a lot of specifics, but I have added some general and tangential stuff.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 06:00, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
- Hi Tony. Sorry forgot to leave a message on your talk page. I really can't do much on weekdays. I'm in the office. Thanks for the patience. --Efe (talk) 12:39, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
- The article has gone major revamp. Its quite good. I'll do a re-reading. The other opposes? How is it going? --Efe (talk) 13:31, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
- The original oppose continues to have stylistic issues and the other remains convinced the article needs an NFCC review, if not some further content removal.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 15:09, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
- Hi Tony. I left comments on the page. --Efe (talk) 03:15, 14 August 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the comments. I am glad to understand the remaining issues other than media better. Since it now looks like it is going to close as unsuccessful, I will have something to consider at PR.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 03:22, 14 August 2011 (UTC)
- How many weeks usually candidates with opposes stay at FAC? Most of the opposes bank on the usage of non-free media. --Efe (talk) 03:27, 14 August 2011 (UTC)
- There are now two opposes with substantive actionable editorial issues. It could close at any time now, but it could stay open for 10 more days. It just depends on the FAC gods.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 03:29, 14 August 2011 (UTC)
- Okay. But its getting better. Good luck. You have endured lots of FACs. This one should be easy for you. --Efe (talk) 03:32, 14 August 2011 (UTC)
- If I am going to have any chance, I will need some editorial help. If (more likely when) this closes as fail, I would appreciate it if you might consider helping me to improve along the lines of your concerns at PR.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 03:37, 14 August 2011 (UTC)
- Sure. But we met before and you know your writing is far better than mine. Perhaps I could spot errors but still you write well than me. hihi. --Efe (talk) 03:44, 14 August 2011 (UTC)
- Well, I will need eyes to spot problems. I will just try to improve the article. Worst case is that I give up (and possibly add back all the media that has use to the reader that is undesirable at FA). A gussied up GA would not be a bad thing.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 03:52, 14 August 2011 (UTC)

Re: What Goes Around...
No problem. God, that was so long ago: January. :L I hardly even remember it. I'm sure it wasn't too bad, it was probably IPs and other uses messing the section up. Although, I hardly even remember, so I shouldn't really talk. Take your time, it looks like you haven't been very active lately. ℥nding·start 05:04, 14 August 2011 (UTC)

Like a Prayer
Mark, I was thinking of steam rolling this baby through FAC. What do you think are its chances? I have started copyediting per Tony's manual though. — Legolas (talk2me) 19:06, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
- It's currently at GAN. Perhaps after the review. hihi. --Efe (talk) 02:16, 14 August 2011 (UTC)
- Ya and I think this baby is too large for a song article for FAC to consume. I have to sit down with a pair of butcher's knife, lol. — Legolas (talk2me) 02:35, 14 August 2011 (UTC)
- Ha! Good idea. But I think your nominating it to GAN isn't that good. That's huge and (IMO) fails GAC #3. Its not necessary that you have to have the article go though GAN. When you feel its nearing FA status, just skip GA. What you need though are expert's hands to, well, butcher the article but for the good. Usually, FAC #1a is the most hard to satisfy. But if you feel you still want to have it at GAN, go ahead. Maybe it'll work. Just as you wanted it to. --Efe (talk) 02:44, 14 August 2011 (UTC)
- Thats good to know Mark, coz today or tomorrow I will start a major copyedit of the article. Could do with an extra pair of eyes. — Legolas (talk2me) 14:30, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

Ask
Hi Efe. Can you please re-assess "Love on Top"? I have re-written the whole article. Jivesh • Talk2Me 17:27, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry Efe, i think i was not in my senses. Jivesh • Talk2Me 16:44, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
- Can you please re-assess "Countdown (Beyoncé Knowles song)"? I have re-written the whole article. Jivesh • Talk2Me 08:58, 18 August 2011 (UTC)
- Haha. I thought you want reassessment after the decision in that AfD was to keep. I'll have a look perhaps on Saturday, during the weekend. --Efe (talk) 12:47, 18 August 2011 (UTC)
- Well, the article is in good shape. But might need some copyediting here and prose tightening there. Up for another GA? --Efe (talk) 09:33, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
- Are you trying to tell that you will be happy to do a c/e? Jivesh • Talk2Me 09:47, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
- Sure. We'll try. --Efe (talk) 09:50, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
- Okay Efe but there is something i will have to tell you. I have no intention of taking "Countdown" to GA status soon because it will either be the third single or fourth single form 4 according to rumors from different sources (forums) which are deemed as non-reliable by Wikipedia although 90% of the time whatever they report turn out to be the truth. Anyway, would you mind telling me your real name? Mine is Jivesh (obviously). Jivesh • Talk2Me 09:56, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
- Its Mark. --Efe (talk) 10:06, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
- Nice. I will call you Mark as from now. To begin with, Mark, don't you think "Love on Top" deserves a re-assessment. The whole article has been re-written. Please have a look. Whatever will be your decision, i will accept it. Jivesh • Talk2Me 10:10, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
- Honestly, most of 4's song pages here are in good (others in better) shape. If you re-wrote it to circumvent another possible AfD, then we don't know. Still, they will bank on the notability issue, not how the article stands in terms of prose. Nonetheless, its in good shape and the consensus was to keep. Hopefully it will appear in another chart. --Efe (talk) 10:16, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
- I do not want it to enter another chart (as that would mean it would be a single, which i do not want to happen). The US will never embrace such a song. Worst, imagine Beyonce promoting this song on shows every week or at least once in a month. It is not easy to sing a song with 12 key changes. Jivesh • Talk2Me 10:20, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
- Do you like "I Miss You"? Jivesh • Talk2Me 10:22, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
- Like the lyrics. --Efe (talk) 10:31, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
- I heart it (just like Beyonce says when she really adores something. Lol.) I am looking forward to create an article for the song as it has charted but now i need to know if there is enough information about the development of the song. As for the rest, i do not really worry because i love doing composition and critical reception. Anything for me Queen B. Lol. Anyway Mark, i think i need to get back to revision now. So bye for now, take care. May God bless you and your dear ones. Jivesh • Talk2Me 10:38, 20 August 2011 (UTC)

Regarding Knowles' inspiration in "Love on Top", I think that by playing Etta James, she was referring to her portrayal of the artist in Cadillac Records. Hmm, needs some research? --Efe (talk) 12:34, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
