Images
[edit]In re "facebook", according to their splash page & detail page [1], materials therein are copyrighted. The only exception is images that you uploaded.
Regarding other images, it can be very confusing! For example, Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/All lists all of the currently used tags. In general, however, when you click the "upload file" link, the next screen should give you the best category to choose. Remember that as the image is uploaded, you need to put the source web-link for the image. And, depending on the image, you may need to put in a "fair use" rationale. I have examples of some that I use all the time in My sandbox. There are also many listed at Category:Non-free media rationale templates. If you need help on a specific image, just drop me a line on my talk page.
P.S. To "sign" your entires on talk pages, just add ~~~~ to the end. SkierRMH (talk) 21:31, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
- My best guess is that the proper license would be {{Non-free promotional}} if the source is a yearbook, which is published by the organization. You will need to put {{Non-free use rationale}} this on the page and fill in the appropriate fields. SkierRMH (talk) 22:00, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
I found an article on the Rice website where Gillis mentions the Bush was a Lovett associate. It doesn't give years, but I don't think anyone is going to be anal enough to care (this is Wikipedia, after all...oh, wait...) DoctorDocEOL (talk)
Orphaned non-free image File:Lovett College being built.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Lovett College being built.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
