Hi: if you add something, ANYTHING, to your user page then your name will appear in blue and not in red and youn will gain some credibility, which is a good thing. Carptrash 08:19, 20 February 2007 (UTC) PS I notice that you added co-ordinates to my picture of the statue in Waldheim Cemetery, as well as a bunch of other Chicago places. Are you a Waymarker? Carptrash 08:19, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I thought that perhaps

[edit]

the "mking" part of your name was a reference to Waymarking, which is a GPS group that I just learned about and an trying to figure out what the heck it's about. Anyway, it is here. http://www.waymarking.com/default.aspx?f=1. Check out some of the Chicago group stuff on wikipedia, there is a lot. I've posted a fair amount of Chicago pictures because I used to visit there on and off, them my daughter taught in the Chicago Public Schools for 5 years. Oh yes, always sign anything you do here with 4 of these ~ It signs your edit and time and dates it. Sort of like longitude and latitude, but different. Carptrash 03:09, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, well that was the other possibility for your name. I used my regular name on the internet for many years and then Carptrash sort of arose out of a series of odd events that I'll tell you some evening over a six pack. I hope to see some of your pictures here soon.

License tagging for Image:Consumer Surplus.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Consumer Surplus.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 00:04, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 21:30, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
