Hi

I'm back
[edit]I said I would be back by or before the new year, but unfortunately that didn't happen. :( Soon after I left, my computer stopped. Translation: power button, action=push; result=null. No go, no way. That story will be told later. It turned out to be unfixable. (Thank God I saved almost everything before I gave it to my uncle.) So I went and got a new computer, which worked for about three days before it started slowing down. I took that computer to my uncle as well. He told me it had 1500+ viruses and 500+ pieces of spyware. That computer has not been seen since. The rest of that story will also be told later. Now I have a nice laptop (so what if it's a little old) that goes faster. My Christmas and New Year were very good, and I'm sorry to have missed you all for so long.
On the down side, I can't see your Papyrus font anymore. :( — $PЯINGrαgђ Always loyal! 02:41, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
Just dropping by...
[edit]...to say "Hi!" to my former adopter! How's it going, E@L? I hope everything's okay for you... wow, there's been a handful of users leaving lately, and I hope you won't become one, even if real life isn't treating you the best :) Well, anyways, I just wanted to say hi... and thanks for the adoption time. The help that you gave me was immersely useful... and the wonderful people I met on your userpage :P I hope you're holding on there! Best wishes, lovelaughterlife♥talk? 05:35, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
Question regarding the "rating system"
[edit]I was wondering if you could help me......
I have a question about this rating system that I have seen popping up on discussion pages lately. Perhaps it has been around for some time, but I have just recently began to notice it.
How does the rating system work with regard to who chooses which rating to bestow on the article? I am confused, because it seems to me that one person chooses the rating, which, if you ask me, is ridiculous.
I noticed that the Petipa article I wrote got a 'B'....now, please keep in mind, I am not one of those wikipedians who gets upset when an article I create is met with criticism, and I am all for feedback and for others helping proof read, etc. But there is no indication anywhere as to why the article got such a rating....
I know you expressed interest in editing the article...will you?

That thing you were talking about on IRC
[edit]First, this should be an email, but, as school have cut access to gmail...
I'm sorry to hear what happened, honestly, I am, and while I can't really help, I hope you get better soon :).
All the best,
Will (talk to me) 10:33, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, and you'll have mail in about five hours (when I get into town). I have things to tell you. Will (talk to me) 12:07, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
WP:ADOPT
[edit]Hi there,
As a current Adopter with the Adopt-a-User program there has been some ongoing developments that we would like to bring to your attention.
A new Adopter's Area has been created where you can find useful resources and other Adopter's experiences. Please feel free to add any resources you may have found useful as an Adopter, as well as recount any experiences that you think may help others. If you know of any useful resources for new users / Adoptees then you can add them here.
Also the way the adoption process works has changed slightly. To decrease workload at Category:Wikipedians seeking to be adopted in Adopt-a-user, on offering adoption please change the {{Adoptme}} template to {{Adoptoffer}} on the user's user page, and this will add the user to Category:Wikipedians having been offered adoption. Users that have already been offered adoption can always have a second or third offer, but by separating out those users that have not had an adoption offer yet, it is hoped that no one will go lacking.
Furthermore numerous Adopters have been adding their details to a list of users available for adopting, to offer a more personalised service and allow new users to browse through and pick their own Adopter. The quickest way to adopt though, is still to contact users at the Category:Wikipedians seeking to be adopted in Adopt-a-user.
Finally - thanks for all your hard work, keep it up - and if you have any general questions or suggestions about the further development of Wikipedia:Adopt-a-User please bring them to our talk page. Cheers Lethaniol 13:52, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
