Hello, Editor 5426387, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like this place and decide to stay.

Why can't I edit some particular pages?
Some pages that have been vandalized repeatedly are semi-protected, meaning that editing by new or unregistered users is prohibited through technical measures. If you have an account that is four days old and has made at least 10 edits, then you can bypass semi-protection and edit any semi-protected page. Some pages, such as highly visible templates, are fully-protected, meaning that only administrators can edit them. If this is not the case, you may have been blocked or your IP address caught up in a range block.
Where can I experiment with editing Wikipedia?
How do I create an article?
See how to create your first article, then use the Article Wizard to create one, and add references to the article as explained below.
How do I create citations?
  1. Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
  2. Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
  3. In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
  4. Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
  5. Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like <ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>, copy the whole thing).
  6. In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
  7. If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References==
{{Reflist}}
What is a WikiProject, and how do I join one?
A WikiProject is a group of editors that are interested in improving the coverage of certain topics on Wikipedia. (See this page for a complete list of WikiProjects.) If you would like to help, add your username to the list that is on the bottom of the WikiProject page.

SMS Möwe (1906) moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, SMS Möwe (1906), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Thanks for telling me, I'll be sure to get right on that! Editor 5426387 (talk) 22:37, 4 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

"Per above"

[edit]

Hi, can you please stop !voting only with the rationale "per above" at WP:ITNC. "Per above" is a very poor argument (see WP:PERNOM]]), and it is very frustrating to see you posting this comment on nearly every blurb nomination you participate in. It adds nothing to the discussion, as discussions are not a vote. Curbon7 (talk) 21:41, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I would say something beside it, and sometimes I do, but usually the point I make has already been used. Editor 5426387 (talk) 00:34, 19 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Then its ok not to comment oif you think there is nothing more to add. Or if you feel like there's something other contributors missed, jumping in with that. But "per above" does not help, as admins do not consider !votes like that as discussions are not a vote Curbon7 (talk) 11:23, 19 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please use romanized official Ukrainian names in English language Wikipedia

[edit]

I noticed that when you created the Wikipedia page Orc (slang) last June you used (presumably because you translated the article from russian language Wikipedia) romanized russian language forms of names of Ukrainian people and places. These russian language forms are almost never the same as the romanized official Ukrainian names of Ukrainian people and places. And in today's English language Wikipedia the official Ukrainian names of Ukrainian people and places are almost always the one we use. For some reason russians can not let go of calling the Ukrainian city Makariv "Makarov" and the same goes for almost any other Ukrainian city and Ukrainian person..... (It would be interesting to find out why the russians can not let go of this practice of "russification" names of cities outside russia while westerners have no problems of changing the pronunciation of Kyiv from "Kiev" to "Kyiv" and Seoul from "Seoul" to "Soul" (not sure how widespread "Soul" is, but "Kiev" has completely disappeared in the English language)). — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 13:34, 11 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

PS Thanks for creating Orc (slang) and a few moments ago I fixed the names of Makariv and the Ukrainian people in the article (Orc (slang)). (The writing here of russia without capital letters is intentional but I do not do that in Wikipedia articles). — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 13:40, 11 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Caught by an open proxy block but this host or IP is not an open proxy. My IP address is 138.43.104.40. I have been editing Wikipedia for over a year, and I have not used any open proxies, I don't even really know what that is, I am asking that I be unblocked as soon as possible.

Decline reason:

That IP address belongs to the iboss vpn. Yamla (talk) 01:58, 16 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
