Welcome to Wikipedia, Edithran! I am Calaka and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!

Information icon Hello, I'm Cyberwolf. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Sanjeev Sanyal seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. •Cyberwolf•talk? 16:20, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

All the edits are facts backed by credible sources. Moreover uou can easily verify the information from other sources as they are well known in India. Edithran (talk) 16:29, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The text added didn’t seem to be neutral with or without sources •Cyberwolf•talk? 16:32, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure why statement of bare facts is not seen as "neutral" ..... many of the facts were already there in the text anyway. I just brought them to the fore as it explains the person better. Sanyal is not a generic Indian economist but a senior member of Prime Minister's economic team. He was also recently appointed as Chancellor of an important institute. You can versify all this through a simple good search Edithran (talk) 16:44, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you think the facts should be re-stated, then feel free to reword them, but cannot see why you have reversed the whole thing without looking into it. Edithran (talk) 16:47, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry my mistake •Cyberwolf•talk? 17:44, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Edithran. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Sanjeev Sanyal, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Edithran. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Edithran|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. TrangaBellam (talk) 17:15, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
