Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:25, 28 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Merrill Lynch into Merrill Lynch & Co.. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was moved, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 02:44, 27 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Rebecca Hope Morales

[edit]

Hello, Editchecker123. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Rebecca Hope Morales".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. Sidecar (software) moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Sidecar (software), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. ... discospinster talk 20:25, 3 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Fred Ehrsam for deletion

[edit]

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Fred Ehrsam until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Clark Bray requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Sidecar (software), a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:34, 4 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thank you for nominating Category:N M Rothschild & Sons people for renaming; I iVoted in your favor. As part of the nomination process, you need to tag the category to let other editors know (or your nomination will be closed as invalid}. Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Editchecker123. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 02:55, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Editchecker123,
I was wondering if you had any connection to the Chasan family. You (and a lot of La Jolla IP accounts) seemed to edit articles involving family members and places and schools they were connected to. As long as you are not doing undeclared paid work, having a COI is not an insurmountable problem. Every editor has special subjects they are interested in. But if you do have a COI, it's best to declare it on your User page and be transparent about it.
If I misread the situation, then I apologize. It just seemed like it was a big coincidences that you edit several articles associated with members of this family. If you have questions, you can either ask me on my talk page or, if you prefer, visit the Teahouse where more experienced editors can provide you with advice, support and a second opinion. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 03:03, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Liz – I appreciate you reaching out! I am not a paid editor and have never received compensation for making edits to pages (I also write from New York vs. La Jolla). In answer to your second question, I do not have a connection to the Chasen family. You are correct in that I have edited several articles on its family members in the past 3 months, mostly adjusting grammar, rescuing existing citations, or removing Advert / Promo / Peacock in an effort to bring content in-line with NPOV. I have done similar levels of work on many other topics as well that are unrelated to that family over the years from my edit history. If anything is unclear, please let me know.
