Edenspiva, you are invited to the Teahouse
[edit]Hi Edenspiva! Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. |
May 2013
[edit]Hello, I'm Sarahj2107. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Jascha Spivakovsky seemed less than neutral to me, so I removed it for now. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Sarahj2107 (talk) 15:20, 27 May 2013 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Jascha Spivakovsky.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Jascha Spivakovsky.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 09:56, 16 September 2013 (UTC)
Significant problems with your edits on Jascha Spivakovsky
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Jascha Spivakovsky, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Dl2000 (talk) 00:46, 27 June 2014 (UTC)
Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Jascha Spivakovsky, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. Dl2000 (talk) 00:46, 27 June 2014 (UTC)
Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Jascha Spivakovsky. While objective prose about beliefs, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Dl2000 (talk) 00:46, 27 June 2014 (UTC)
Please do not add or change content, as you did to Jascha Spivakovsky, without verifying it by citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Dl2000 (talk) 00:46, 27 June 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy by adding commentary and your personal analysis into articles, as you did at Jascha Spivakovsky, you may be blocked from editing. Dl2000 (talk) 03:48, 14 July 2014 (UTC)
Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did to Jascha Spivakovsky. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Dl2000 (talk) 03:48, 14 July 2014 (UTC)

[edit] You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.
You appear to be pushing promotional edits on this article and violating numerous WP editorial policies in the process. I suggest you tone it down, as this behavior is not likely to end well for you. Please undo your reinsertion of the unwarranted superlative in the opening of the lede. Per WP:BRD you should use the talk page if you disagree with my revert of that text. Also, please review Wikipedia's policy concerning conflict of interest at WP:COI and conform and disclose any applicable relationship you may have to the subject or the recently released recordings. Thanks. You have 3 reverts on this article. Please read the policy cited in the warning and take a breather. SPECIFICO talk 00:21, 27 January 2016 (UTC)
Hi not sure if this is where I comment but here goes: I will tone down the lede as you suggest. please be assured i have documentary proof of every assertion made in the article. I am now adding citations throughout as well as fleshing out the body sections. Apologies for cutting your edits - i did not realise someone else was making changes (thought i had more than one window open). I would ask that you fully research the subject before you make any changes. I have spent thousands of hours researching this topic from primary sources and would be happy to provide all evidence.Edenspiva (talk) 00:35, 27 January 2016 (UTC)
- The sources should come along with the edits, not after. Further, global superlatives, e.g. the finest pianist of his generation, would need an extraordinarily strong reference. Please disclose your relationships as I requested above. The article is welcome, and he is certainly worthy of it, but it must be neutral in tone and sourced according to Wikipedia policies. Thank you. SPECIFICO talk 00:39, 27 January 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for the guidance, I'm still learning how to use Wiki. Will fix citations and review the tone throughout. Disclosure: I am the subject's grandson and have absolutely no wish to overstate (or understate). Much of this material has never been made public before and i understand the need to show strong evidence which I have collected.
- Good luck. SPECIFICO talk 00:56, 27 January 2016 (UTC)
Thanks! All the research has been a really big job (and still going). Lede section now updated, please let me know if you see issues / if the warning sign can come down now. I will now clean up and add all citations to body sections.

[edit]You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you remove the maintenance templates from Wikipedia articles without resolving the problem that the template refers to, as you did at Jascha Spivakovsky. Dl2000 (talk) 22:33, 27 January 2016 (UTC)
Hi, body sections now edited and citations now done (although still be to be cleaned up in format a little). Is it now OK to remove the warning banner at the top? If not, please let me know which areas are of concern and I will fix. Thanks :) Edenspiva (talk) 04:58, 5 February 2016 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of File:Jascha Spivakovsky performing Bach's Organ Fantasie and Fugue (sample).wav
[edit]The file File:Jascha Spivakovsky performing Bach's Organ Fantasie and Fugue (sample).wav has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Sample insufficiently supported by critical commentary, or easily conveyed in text. Not contextually significant to Jascha Spivakovsky. Also, sample exceeds maximum length provided by MOS:SAMPLE and minimal size. Fails WP:NFCC#3b.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:01, 8 February 2022 (UTC)
