That ornery "Outfoxed" citation
[edit]Hey there, I was really puzzled as to why you kept reverting and re-adding your own edit -- but then I saw how the bottom of the article disappeared every time you put it back in, and ka-zing! -- I knew what the problem was. Very simple, in fact. (but so easy to miss!) It's referred to as a "dangling ref tag" -- i.e. an unclosed ref tag -- where the second tag reads <ref> instead of </ref>, like it needs to, in order to close properly. I've seen it dozens of times, sometimes it leads to the most bizarre results, with long passages of text showing up in the footnotes, etc., etc. Anyway, I already took care of it. And the next time you run into this problem, you'll know what to look for... Cgingold 18:07, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
So that's what it was! I was really confused by what was happening. Thanks very much for the help, I'll keep that in mind next time it happens :). Edders 18:14, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
Thanks
[edit]Thanks for catching the vandalism on my pages. The user was reported and now blocked.--Oakshade 01:20, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
You're welcome, I saw their edit summary and guessed they were up to mischief elsewhere. Edders 12:19, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
