Devil with Boobs article
[edit]Speedy deletion nomination of The Devil with Boobs
[edit]A tag has been placed on The Devil with Boobs, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing no content to the reader. Please note that external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article don't count as content. Moreover, please add more verifiable sources, not only 3rd party sources. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}
) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this..
Also, this article appears to be an effort at self promotion, which makes it of special concern. KDS4444Talk 11:11, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
The article Archangels Don't Play Pinball has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- No assertion of notability, no reliable source, lack sufficient context even for a stub.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. KTC (talk) 11:21, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

I have to say that I am getting rather punch-drunk by the various deletion proposals arriving from Hairhorn and KTC.
This on account of the fact that I only started posting to Wikipedia this morning, and I find it rather difficult to keep up with all the deletion requests and whether they have been accepted, rejected, deferred or whatever.
You cite the playography at www.geocities.com/dariofoarchive. That website is my website, saved from the now-dead geocities.com (although since the sad and bitter demise of geocities.com at the hands of the executioners yahoo.com I no longer have editing control of the site). Years ago, when first posting, I had permission from the author, Tony Mitchell, to put the playography up there. So how and where that sits in your deletion policy I do not quite know.
Never mind, I shall soldier on.
And, incidentally, I see that you suggest I am engaged in self-promotion. That is not the case. I have been a well-respected translator of Dario Fo for the past 30 years, and my interest is that people should have access to the translations of his work. You will note that, where other translations exist, I also reference them.

Removing Speedy at The Virtuous Burglar
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for taking the time to create a page here. It might not have been your intention, but you recently removed a speedy deletion tag from a page you created yourself. Because Wikipedia policy does not allow the creator of the page to remove deletion tags, an automated program has replaced the deletion tag you removed from The Virtuous Burglar. Please do not continue to remove the deletion tag, instead, if you disagree with the deletion, you can follow these steps:
- Go to the page by clicking this link. Once there, select the button that says Click here to contest this speedy deletion.
- This will take you to the talk page, where you can make your case by explaining why the page does not meet Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion.
Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do. For further help about the deletion, you could contact the user who first placed the tag or a highly active user who is willing to help with deletion. This message was left by a bot, so please do not contact the bot about the deletion. Thank you, - SDPatrolBot (talk) 22:15, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for the invitation. Happy to join you.
Leaving aside the nightmarish day I have had on Wikipedia with postings and then deletions by various people, I have a specific question.
I am a translator of 40 years experience. During that time I have translated many significant works, and the translation work has run in parallel with my own organisation of cultural, political and social activities which have introduced those writers to an English-speaking public.
I wish to create a Wikipedia page which documents those activities, gives details of my translations. The page would be entitled "Ed Emery - Translator" (noting the need to avoid a clash with the other Wikipedian Ed Emery, who is a US politician).
I am aware of Wiki constraints as regards personal postings, neutrality of content, notability, etc.
Nevertheless I believe that my translating activities have made a notable and verifiable contribution to politics and culture in the English-speaking world, and that the making of such a page would be justified.
My question is: How can I set about creating such a page within the limits set by Wikipedia protocols.
I should say immediately that I have no institution which could create such a page on my behalf, nor do I have any individual who could do it from their own interest.
C'est tout. All advice on how to proceed would be welcomed.
E.

- Hi, sorry if you were overwhelmed by deletion notices. There is a process to go through if you want to use material that's already posted on another webpage, see wp:donating copyrighted materials for more information, or read the tags already posted above. (Since anyone can claim to be the original author of a text, simply claiming ownership is never enough. Every time you enter something on Wikipedia you will see the warning, hidden among lots of other text: "Please do not copy and paste from copyrighted websites – only public domain resources can be copied without permission.") As for writing a page about yourself, this is highly discouraged, based on the principle that, if you are truly noteworthy, someone else will eventually create a page about you. See wp:autobiographies and wp:conflict of interest for more. It's not always the most welcoming environment around here for new users, especially if you start out by creating new pages, since so many users devote time to reviewing new pages. So welcome again, and cheers. Hairhorn (talk) 01:07, 2 August 2012 (UTC)

Sarah Stierch has deleted my Archangels Don't Play Pinball page.
As far as I recall, I had rewritten the text with my own words, thereby eliminating the copyright problem.
I request that the page be reinstated so that I can then re-edit it, with a view to eliminating outstanding problems.
Furthermore, as regards the "playography" material which has caused all this fuss, the website in question was created by myself, and I had the author's permission to post that material there - so, so, so.
Onwards and upwards.

Dear All,
On the page http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Dario_Fo&pe=1&
in the list of Dario Fo texts there is an entry for "Corpse for Sale (Un morto da vendere)
I created a page for that play text. It worked OK.
Now, however, clicking on that link gives a "redirect" which takes you back to
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Dario_Fo&pe=1&
Can someone advise, or (if it is a glitch) sort it out?
E.

Talk page tagging
[edit]Ed, you'd talk some articles with {{Portal|Theatre}}
- this tag is designed for use in articles themselves to refer readers to the Portal. I think you were more intending to tag the articles of being of interest to members of Wikipedia:WikiProject Theatre in which case the template you need is {{WikiProject Theatre}}. Speedy deletion nomination of Corpse for Sale
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Corpse for Sale requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about something invented/coined/discovered by the article's creator or someone they know personally, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Finball30 (talk) 00:43, 1 November 2019 (UTC)
