Civility warning
"It's a pity that she doesn't have the guts to explain herself" does not help anyone. Please read the civility policy again, as comments like those do not contribute to a positive editing environment. Titoxd(?!? - cool stuff) 00:12, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
- As they say where I'm from, "If you see someone jumping into a well, do you jump in as well?" That is not an excuse. Please refrain from uncivil comments, particularly those that can be considered personal attacks, as the ones linked above. Titoxd(?!? - cool stuff) 18:48, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

about your message
Hello Ed, I read your comment prior to Springeragh's reversion of it. You can look in the talk page history to see his feelings on your message. I'm glad that you like my paragraph so much that you feel as if it's your own. As much as I feel that the current protected Esperanza essay does the best job of conveying a neutral point of view, I don't feel it's worth the stress to keep arguing over. If you study economics, you will learn about the concept of diminishing returns. This is how I see the essay: more and more work and anguish over less and less potential improvements.
You may not believe this, but my only desire in participating in the whole mediation was to try to smooth over conflict. I didn't want to portray Esperanza in a good light or a bad light. Everybody, of course, has their own bias, and I did my best to keep my own contributions balanced. After what felt like an eternity, I thought that I had done a fairly good job in bringing two diametrically opposed parties together in agreement, with the help of Steve Block. Now I see that the détente was only temporary.
I don't enjoy arguments, and I do my best to avoid them. You've probably noticed that in the course of the mediation, that I wasn't as forceful in making a point as either you or Dev. I hope you understand that two people can have very different views, and that neither of them (or both of them) could be right. I tried very hard to get you and Dev to agree on something, and for a brief time, you did.
Despite my conviction that the essay should remain unchanged and protected, I don't intend on editing the Esperanza talk page again due to all of the stress it caused. If I were to keep participating, I would only foresee further conflict and edit warring. I imagine that if both Dev and I stop taking part there, you will be able to say what you want without challenge. I just ask you to think about what Esperanza stood for: kindness, hope, building community... and to keep those in mind in whatever you do in the future. Take care, Kyoko 18:07, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
Best of luck
Ed, I wish you all the luck in the future, it's shocked me what you just put on you userpage - when things are sorted, please come back. Regards, Ryan Postlethwaite 17:16, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- Hey Ed, I just stumbled across your userpage from having Ryan's talk page watchlisted. I had never had the pleasure of interacting with you on Wikipedia but I had noticed you around a lot and I am deeply saddened to find this out. I wish you every luck with your future treatment and recovery and, as Ryan has said, hope that you will be able to return when things are sorted out. With very best regards. Will (aka Wimt) 17:27, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- I've deleted all your subpages and what not, if you ever want them restoring let me know. I'm available by email if ever you need anything mate. Ryan Postlethwaite 17:31, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
I wish you all the best of luck and hope that everything works out for you. I've seen you around a fair bit and have been impressed with what I've seen and would love to see you back one day. Best regards, GDonato (talk) 18:37, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Goodbye, Ed.
As I'm no longer an Esperanzan, I won't try to comfort you or wish you well. In my opinion, recent events have shown that the community has deteriorated since Esperanza's deletion - for some time, I was considering leaving Wikipedia and resuming my Microsoft vandalism. If you need someone to continue your attempts to improve the Esperanza essay, I'd be happy to help. I have added your name to Stress alerts, although I don't expect you to get much encouragement. --J.L.W.S. The Special One 06:32, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
Best wishes

I'm sorry
I only barely went in to what you and I and certain other parties know, but even I pushed it too far (I told you you were pushing it, but actually, I was). I am sorry if I participated in your departure. — $PЯINGrαgђ 03:59, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
Good luck
Wow, it's been a very long time since I've logged on Wikipedia. I checked a lot of things I would've checked on if I was still active, and I saw your farewell blurb. I know you didn't ask for sympathy, so I'll try keeping it low key. Best of luck, Ed. Thank you for all your help when I was active. I hope all turns out for the best.
