Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Earthcheck, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was EarthCheck, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, visit the Teahouse, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! —C.Fred (talk) 04:16, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Amazing!! Thank you so much! Appreciate the support with this.
We were simply editing back to English (GB) and removing Banyan Tree. Will make sure to read up on the links provided, it's very useful and helpful.
Having helpful editors like yourself is invaluable to the community! Earthcheck (talk) 04:22, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Help request

Struggling a bit with understanding how to best to set a Draft page up. Is there a step-by-step guide for how we do this correctly? Earthcheck (talk) 04:36, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You should start with your first article and understand the importance of independent sources and notability. Since you have an evident conflict of interest, it's also important for you to be especially careful to avoid promotionalism in your edits. You can begin a draft using the Article Wizard. I'm afraid there's not a simple step-by-step guide. Creating a draft that can be accepted as a new article is quite a difficult task to undertake as a new editor and you should probably gain experience first by working to improve other, existing pages for a while. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 05:02, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Have updated the homepage and also added the draft of the page I was looking to update. If I'm missing anything please do let me know. Earthcheck (talk) 05:10, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well noted and thank you. Have requested to update my username. Have also looked at the article (it was an exisintg one) and have made some suggested edits. Is it best to tag here in the Talk page? Earthcheck (talk) 05:21, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your user page may not meet Wikipedia's user page guidelines. It is intended for basic information about yourself, your interests and goals as they relate to editing Wikipedia, as well as disclosures of conflicts of interest and paid editing. Although a lot of freedom is allowed in personalizing your user page, it is not:

The user page guidelines have additional information on what is and what is not considered acceptable content. Please use your user sandbox or the draft article space to practice editing or to create new articles. Thank you. jlwoodwa (talk) 05:03, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Jlwoodwa Thank you. I have requested a username change that better reflects my personal identity and enhances transparency regarding my contributions to Wikipedia. Earthcheck (talk) 05:17, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Now that your username has been changed, please move the article-like content related to Earthcheck to the draft article space. Your userpage should only consist of content describing yourself and your relationship to Earthcheck. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 12:03, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Drm310 Thank you for the clarificaiton. Have created a Sandbox and will work on suggested edits there. Appreciate the assistance! Aruss1987 (talk) 22:22, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
