Scott Brunner
Hello Eagles24/7, We both have been editing the scott brunner page. I was wondering if you could help me out putting up two pictures of him, one playing football, and one at the podium of a picture I have. Also, can you let me know what "citation needed" next to net worth management means. Also, how can I reference both net worth management and TEST. Thanks in advance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nwmgroup (talk • contribs) 14:48, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
- Hello. Unfortunately, Wikipedia cannot legally accept images found off of Google for copyright reasons. You can provide images you took or images you hold copyright to, however. The citation needed tag was placed because I could not find a third-party reference to back up the statement. I have left a welcome template on your talk page with many links to Wikipedia's policies. Eagles 24/7 (C) 15:17, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
I have two pictures I have taken. Is it possible for me to email them to you and you put them up for me? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nwmgroup (talk • contribs) 15:26, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
- Were they taken from Google Images, or actually taken by you? If they truly were taken by you, you may upload them to Commons. Eagles 24/7 (C) 16:28, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
So, because the file was originally deleted, the commons won't allow me to re-upload it. The podium picture is completely my work. Can I send you the picture and you upload it and put it on the Scott Brunner page for me? Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nwmgroup (talk • contribs) 15:32, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
- Sure, just send me an e-mail using the "E-mail this user" function on the left. Eagles 24/7 (C) 22:23, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
That "E-mail this user" link is not available. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nwmgroup (talk • contribs) 01:22, 6 July 2012 (UTC)
- You'll need to enable your own e-mail, too, I believe. Eagles 24/7 (C) 22:09, 6 July 2012 (UTC)
I sent you an email, I don't know if you got it... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nwmgroup (talk • contribs) 19:33, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- You've got mail. Eagles 24/7 (C) 19:57, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- I've uploaded the file (at [1]), but you'll need to add in the date the image was taken. Eagles 24/7 (C) 00:05, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
Template:Like
Hi, I noticed that you were a contributor at Template:Like, so I was wondering if I could run something by you... I've had the template on my watchlist for a while and have seen several deletion nominations. Based on the discussion here, I've taken a shot at re-designing the template so that it doesn't look like a trademark violation, hopefully nipping future deletion nominations in the bud. My plan is to propose the new design on the talk page, but I wanted to see if you have any input first. My design can be found here. (I plan to also notify MZMcBride of this discussion.)
Any input you have would be appreciated. Thanks, ~Adjwilley (talk) 00:03, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
- I've taken myself out of the past few discussions, so any change to the template is fine by me as long as the community approves. Eagles 24/7 (C) 00:48, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the quick response. ~Adjwilley (talk) 01:17, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
- The proposed redesign is pretty awful. Regardless, this discussion is best had at Template talk:Like. --MZMcBride (talk) 03:30, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
- Ok, I'll resume the conversation there. Any suggestions for improving the design would be appreciated. I'm trying to get it so that it has the same functionality but doesn't look like an infringement of Facebook's design. ~Adjwilley (talk) 03:51, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
Thoughts
Hey Eagles. I'm not sure if you have put any thought into this or if you have already made a decision but, due to the extremely erroneous nature of my involvement with Wikipedia, would it be best if my mentorship was stopped so that it would allow you to focus your mentorship efforts into more worthwhile areas (assuming you are still a part of the mentorship program)?
Let me know what your thoughts are and I hope you are well in the meantime --Skamecrazy123 (talk) 23:48, 9 July 2012 (UTC)
- Hey there Skamecrazy. Don't worry, I am not actively looking to mentor/adopt any more users for the foreseeable future. At this point in your mentorship you're about as experienced as the average Wikipedian, if not more. You can still ask me questions about editing whenever you find yourself confused, I'll be happy to answer them. Eagles 24/7 (C) 00:02, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
Bert Bell
I broke the 60k barrier on Bert Bell. You are busy with real life and I am busy with real life too. If you respond within a month then that's cool. Otherwise, I will do a peer review elsewhere. I have major difficulties in my life at this time so I can not promise to act upon anything you do within the next month. I hope everything is well, but I am requesting a peer review on the Bell article, specifically, if you have limited time, the Pittsburgh Steelers section - which is far and away the most difficult section because WWII wiped out all news. Thanks in advance. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 04:56, 15 July 2012 (UTC)
- Quite honestly, just those 2 paragraphs on the Steelers I want you to review. They are the most difficult paragraphs in the entire article. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 05:01, 15 July 2012 (UTC)
- Nice to see you finally created a username. I'll be happy to review that section for you (my comments will be posted on the article's talk page). Eagles 24/7 (C) 05:04, 15 July 2012 (UTC)
- I copyedited the section a bit and left a review on the talk page. If you need me to review anything else specifically, feel free to let me know and I'll respond within a day or two. Eagles 24/7 (C) 05:34, 15 July 2012 (UTC)
- OK, thank you Ijustreadbooks (talk) 14:14, 15 July 2012 (UTC)
- I made 36 edits on the Steelers section. When you get a chance, I would be most appreciative if you gave that section another go. No hurry. This section is the killer, then after that it's the Eagles section, then after that it's cake. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 03:50, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
- I added additional comments in that talk page section. Looks a lot better this time around. Eagles 24/7 (C) 02:11, 18 July 2012 (UTC)

- 1ST 2 paragraphs are good to go for the Eagles when you are available. Third paragraph will require total rewrite and content has to be added. Thanks in advance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ijustreadbooks (talk • contribs) 17:01, 22 July 2012 (UTC)
Section: Second NFL commissioner is good to go. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 04:46, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
Section: Introduction of competitive balance is good to go Ijustreadbooks (talk) 04:46, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
Section: Hapes-Filchock Scandal and introduction of overtime is good to go - (put a tikky mark by the last word in the paragraph "games" - it prolly should be "sporting events" - I may need to do a lil more research on that. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 04:46, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
Section: AAFC-NFL merger, Radovich, and television broadcast rights is good to go. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 04:46, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
Section: Blackout policy and introduction of TV revenue sharing (1950–1953) is ...well a little rough, but its good to go for peer review. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 04:46, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
Section: The greatest game ever played and final days (1958–1959) is a little rough, but its good to go for peer review. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 04:46, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
Section: Death and funeral (1959) is good to go Ijustreadbooks (talk) 04:46, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
- if you look into Lyons' book and look for a critique on it you will find someone saying it is more about the history of the NFL than Bell and the critique also denotes the lack of investigation into the NFL's racial segregation during Bell's involvement in the league. That critique is spot on. I removed 40-50K bytes from the Bell article because I blindly followed Lyons.
- WWII wipes out alot history on the NFL. Even the Pittsburgh papers which are online really have nothing on Bell during WWII. There's some tweaks I am aware of that need to be introduced, but I have not ascertained that book in further reading which I discovered only a week or 2 ago.
- I am going to have to drive down to Philadelphia and do some research at the main Philadelphia library. The NYC public library does not have Philadelphia papers from the 1930s. I really need to snuff up 1938 and 1939, but only the Philadelphia papers can do the job except for that "to be ascertained" book in further reading. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 05:01, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
I am really, really, really hoping you can help me bring Bell to life rather than just copy edits. You are an extremely sophisticated user. I know its baby steps with copy edits for me, but I hope you can put your helmet on and get in the game and bring this article to an entirely different level. 05:01, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
- I'm not sure about being "an extremely sophisticated user," but I'm very flattered. You've done an excellent job with this article so far, so I can't say I can improve the content enough to "bring it to life." I'll do my best. Eagles 24/7 (C) 15:33, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
Section: Legacy and honors...lil rough, but its good to go Ijustreadbooks (talk) 05:11, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
Section: Introduction ....deal with much, much, much later. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 05:11, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
I feel a 63k or 64k article here....need more content. For now, 1938 and 1939 are the main problems. But those years are isolated and contained in the Eagles section so the peer review can continue. It will prolly be a 61K article after the peer review is done and then I will just need to continue on and add 2 or 3k bytes to make it better. I'm really very happy thank you so very much for all your help. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 05:15, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
Section: Legacy is good to go Ijustreadbooks (talk) 02:08, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
FYI: NFL Draft in Legacy might need a touch up on NPOV. It should be Oriard that says the NFL Draft kept the players locked in or something like that. I'll bring it in. I know about it and it's easy to find, maybe I already even put it in the NFL Draft. No biggie. I'll be stuck on 1938 and 1939 for awhile. I gotta drive to Philadelphia and go to the main library for that. Hopefully I can dig up that recently discovered book (search John C. Bell on the internet) to see the info. Maybe this weekend or maybe not until September. Bringing Bell to life is crucial, but deleting 50k bytes of NFL history in the article was critical. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 02:19, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
- OTOH, after frockling with the NFL Draft article and the NFLPA article, I think I am going to let those articles criticize the NFL draft. It's too off topic and, by and large, most criticism comes after he died. Yep, I'm letting it slide. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 02:45, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
Section: Introduction: watch that third paragraph and 3 uses of the word games. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 03:01, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
- Introduction is good to go. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 03:02, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
fyi: I changed a lot of the section title names. I'm really happy with the article except for 1938 and 1939 1938, 1938, and 1940. That will take awhile. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 03:48, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
Bert Bell introduction good to go, good to go, good to go, good to go (it may not be good, but it's the best I can do without input). It's good to go for a peer review! Ijustreadbooks (talk) 06:09, 27 July 2012 (UTC)
I'd stay away from the Bell article if i were you until september. I buggered up citation 157 and have an errant sentence in the legacy section. It will take me weeks to fix it. Plus I still got 1938-1940, the nfl draft and "sporting events" to deal with. I did work through the entire article again tonight...5 steps forward, 4 steps back is an improvement Ijustreadbooks (talk) 06:32, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
- Alright. Eagles 24/7 (C) 15:59, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
Television & the NFL
I am ignorant if you are aware of this. But in this year, 2012, the NFL is scared to death over HDTV and the power of television. Their fear is the best seat to a game is in a fan's living room. So the Bert Bell television policy is critical, critical, critical, critical, critical....Ijustreadbooks (talk) 03:31, 26 July 2012 (UTC)
Introduction section removed from peer review: it's a disaster
Need more work on intro. Let that puppy slide for a few weeks. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 03:44, 26 July 2012 (UTC)
- As soon as you're done editing tonight, I'll take another look at the article. Eagles 24/7 (C) 03:56, 26 July 2012 (UTC)
- 20 edits later- intro is better, let that baby slide for a few days so it can sink in. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 04:15, 26 July 2012 (UTC)
Nfl draft and bert bell
I think I am going to put something in the legacy like, "the nfl draft was the greatest thing since slice bread, blah, blah, blah, but posthumously the original version of Bell's draft was deprecated in negotiations with the NFLPA, blah blah blah" I am not going to go into specifics, just like 10-14 words....it will take a while to dig that citation up but I could get whacked for NPOV. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 04:31, 26 July 2012 (UTC)
Let the Bell article slide for a few more days-> I'm working through it again
Ijustreadbooks (talk) 05:55, 26 July 2012 (UTC)
Bert Bell as a college coach
Bell was not an "assistant" coach to Heisman as Lyons writes and I write in the article. He was a coach of part, or all, of the freshman team under Heisman. Lyons did not include it in his 300 page book so I have not included it in my 60k byte biography. Let me know if I should fix this. I have citations from the 1920s to use if you think it should be fixed. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 06:36, 26 July 2012 (UTC)
Request
Hi, Eagles; long time no talk. I noticed your name at Category:Wikipedia administrators who will provide copies of deleted articles, and was wondering if you could provide me with a copy of Grey's Anatomy in popular culture. The page was deleted back in 2007, after an AFD. I am preparing Grey's Anatomy for FAC, and have been contemplating whether or not a 'cultural impact' section is necessary. That said, if I could take a look at the deleted page, it may provide me with some insight on what could be included in this possible section. Hope to hear back from you, TRLIJC19 (talk) 05:46, 18 July 2012 (UTC)
- I've e-mailed you a copy of the page. Eagles 24/7 (C) 14:44, 18 July 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you so much! TRLIJC19 (talk) 17:18, 18 July 2012 (UTC)
Bert Bell: steelers 4th paragraph
Give that paragraph a go when you get a chance. A lil bit disjointed if you ask me...but one baby step at a timeIjustreadbooks (talk) 05:49, 18 July 2012 (UTC)
- Looks good, I have nothing to add there. Eagles 24/7 (C) 14:47, 18 July 2012 (UTC)
Bert Bell records of the eagles
I'm really tired and confused but somehow I think I messed up their win loss records for 1933 and 1934. Gotta stay on top of that. That's kind of embarasing. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 09:03, 19 July 2012 (UTC)
- I've cleaned up the records in that section. Eagles 24/7 (C) 01:12, 20 July 2012 (UTC)
- thank you. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 05:12, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
Troy Vincents Page
What specific paragraphs on the page has no relevance to Troy Vincent's life? Thanks, — Preceding unsigned comment added by CareerUpdate (talk • contribs) 02:19, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
- Specifically, in this section, the text that starts with "In order to learn more about retired..." until "a 7 v 7 Tourney and a Nike “Iron Man" Skills Challenge." at the end of the section. Eagles 24/7 (C) 02:26, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
NFL Player Engagement Page Copy Request
Hi, Eagles; Can you please provide me with a copy of the deleted NFL Player Engagement Page. I will like the opportunity to redo the page to ensure it's from an unbiased perspective. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CareerUpdate (talk • contribs) 02:25, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, since the content is almost entirely copied from the NFL Player Engagement website (creating a copyright violation), I cannot. Eagles 24/7 (C) 02:30, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
Bert Bell and weekend football
I know of no author that says that "football had to be played on the weekends to get the biggest crowds to get the biggest gate receipts because everyone worked Monday through Friday". I'll never find a citation for that because it's common sense. What should I do?Ijustreadbooks (talk) 05:06, 22 July 2012 (UTC)
- That's for the Eagles section 1st paragraph. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 05:08, 22 July 2012 (UTC)
- I just looked, I got the article to 58K, I was targeting 55-58K for months now. I would really like it to be at most a 58,999 article. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 05:14, 22 July 2012 (UTC)
I'm a lil scared of you
But I'll look over the Eagles section 1st 2 paragraphs again. I'm kinda of happy with them. I am getting ready to submit them for peer review. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 05:52, 22 July 2012 (UTC)
- I'll take a look at everything later today. Eagles 24/7 (C) 18:07, 22 July 2012 (UTC)
