Album infobox genre delimiters
[edit]Hi there. Note that the current discussion about delimiting genres is about the musical artist infobox. The album infobox uses commas to delimit genres, per a previous discussion (which is one of the many reasons to use commas also in the musical artist infobox). Please do not change the guideline about delimiting genres in the album infobox without consensus to do so at WT:ALBUM. --PEJL 12:11, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:Leashlaw dogface.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Leashlaw dogface.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 15:23, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:LivingSacrificeLogo.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:LivingSacrificeLogo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 01:20, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
A POV edit that I don't agree with
[edit]Perhaps you won't either? see this. To me Christian metal has every right to be included in the Heavy metal template. I do not see where the POV for removal is coming from. An long-term music editor put the term back. And it was removed again with a talk page message that has more "anti-Christian" overtones to it than it has "anti-genre" reasoning. I know that I am a Christian. And I listen to all sorts of Christian metal. And I don't consider it to be any less "metal" than any other form of heavy metal. Just thought you'd like to know. 156.34.219.206 10:54, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
- I always believed Christian metal to be a valid 'stand alone' genre. "Thrash metal" bands w. Christian lyrics typically get tagged as Christian metal first. Or any other "X" metal band who lean on pro-Christian lyrics get tagged for their lyrical content ahead of the music style. My observation anyways. 156.34.219.206 11:24, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
- The template is a prot so it is beyond my reach. Under my former username I had over Wikipedia 20000 edits. I rejected my account for the purity of anonymous editing(it's what Wikipedia was built on) I was also tired of being nominated for adminship every other week... something I have no desire to be. I have close to 30000 edits as an IP now and I am not about to go backwards to my old account just to rv a template. Inhumer is on the VandalProof blacklist. So he's obviously made someone angry along the way. Maybe for edits like his recent one? 156.34.219.206 11:39, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:JmauerCullen.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:JmauerCullen.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use media which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. High on a tree (talk) 06:06, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
- You won't get past Wikipedia's non-free content policies by deleting comments of others that you don't agree with. The text of the template in the image description page clearly states "Please do not remove this tag"; you should respect this and wait for an admin to decide.

Fair use rationale for Image:Helloweenlogoxxxblack.gif
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Helloweenlogoxxxblack.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. DevilDriver and Graveworm
[edit]Graveworm is a Black Gothic Meatl band. DevilDriver Is Groove Metal. On Top of that Dark Tranquillity has no influence on Children of Bodom. DT plays the The Gothenburg style of Melo Death Metal. Chidlren of Bodom does not.
Please for the love of God look into those band before you just readd them into a gerne they don't play or have any influence on. I listen to DT and I can tell you it's nothing like CoB if Graveworm is what is called power metal then people need there hearing checked. --Turemetalfan (talk) 23:25, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
- They arent added into the genre--E tac (talk) 23:30, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
That's right becasue I had to take them out. For the fact that neither band plays that stlye of Metal.--Turemetalfan (talk) 23:36, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
- Someone else will probably add it back in, you aren't worth arguing with, you don't seem to get the fact that influences are often a different style and that is why they are listed as influences.--E tac (talk) 23:49, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
Do you even now what the The Gothenburg style is? CoB dose not even come close to playing that style of metal. Dark Tranquillity has as much influence on Exterme Power Metal as At The Gates, In Flames, and Arch Enemy which is none. The influence they have is on other bands that play Melodic death metal. You might want to listen to the bands before you start helping someone add them in. And you might want to really look into what Graveworm plays. Have you ever heard anything Graveworm has ever done? How about DevilDriver? --Turemetalfan (talk) 23:59, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
- Yes I do know what Gothenburg metal is, how does me listening to a band or not, or you listening to them or not have anything to do with if bands have stated them as influences or not?--E tac (talk) 00:11, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
Becuase if you really listened to it you would not CoB does not play that style of Melo Death Metal.
To really make the point
Dark Tranquillity zodijackyl lights http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhEY2XghR-E
Children of Bodom - Downfall http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbr89uDTr9Y
Yeah that's a really big influence DT has had on CoB. They both play melodic death metal. Though CoB does not play the Gothenburg style. In fact DT never even started using keyboards until there ablum Projector (album). That's like seven to six years after CoB started up and at lest two years after CoB first major CD came out. What made DT melodic death metal was the melodic guitar riffs, melodic solos, and acoustic guitars not the keyboards. What makes CoB medolic death metal is the fact that on top of using the meldoic guitar riffs and solos they also use keyboards. Which they used from the start. DT did not use keyboards from the start in fact most DT fans feel the there frist CD Skydancer at times hit a little into the Black Metal area.
Well they both play Melo Death Metal it's different styles. The best exmaple of this is really In Flame compered to DT. --Turemetalfan (talk) 00:22, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
- You don't seem to grasp the fact that influences are not always the same style of what they are influencing.--E tac (talk) 00:35, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
And you don't seem to grasp or bother to show any proof where as I have. Would you care to back up that DT is any influence on CoB? Becasue I can keep going on and on as to how DT has not had any kind of influence on CoB. Becasue on like you I listen to almost ever kind of Mele Death Metal band there is and. DT, In Flames, At the Gates all started the Gothenburg sound and At The Gates never used keyboards. In Flames from time to time has but like DT use it more as Atmosphere for there sound. Where as CoB has the keyboard going full blast like most Power Metal band have done at times. But if you still don't get it. Let's go with yet another band. Amon Amarth - Runes To My Memory http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFq2YJKYa-k
Like DT they play Melo Death Metal. But not as much in the Gothenburg sound. So do yoiu care to back up of how DT has influence on CoB and Extreme power metal. Because I have yet to see where they have any kind of influence on it when CoB goes in a total different path of Melo Death Metal then DT, At The Gates, Arch Enemy, In Flames and Amon Amarth. Those bands have more influence on Metalcore then Extreme power metal. --Turemetalfan (talk) 01:04, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
- Why don't you tag it as needing a citation using the "{{fact}}" tag, then and see if whoever put it in there can back it up, if they can't then it will get removed.--E tac (talk) 01:12, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
That's assmuing the person ever comes back. The person is a classy case of edit page and never return again. Besides the whole Extreme power metal has been taged for the past two months. One of the reasons having to do with CoB and the debate that keeps going on about what gerne of metal the play. Kind of like the Slipknot page. :p Though I don't listen to Slipknot at all. --Turemetalfan (talk) 01:41, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

Nonetheless, if we're going to post this photo as a "typical street gang" we're going to need a lot more documentation -- not the names of the persons depicted of course, but location, affiliation -- I gotta say, the lunchy guy in the cowboy hat, the thoughtful looking fellow seated on the ground, and only one guy flashing generic sign, all in front of a pickup truck -- naaah, not very credible. Otherwise, it just doesn't belong as an authoritative illustration of the concept. DavidOaks (talk) 13:34, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:48, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit]I meant that they wanted to become more notable for creating a wikiproject. Oh I think I know what you thought, what I really meant was that they would become notable like you, because I had never heard of the user and I had never heard of you or I would not of heard of you if I did not join the WP:CMM, I knew about Azure Shrieker because of the high quality of their articles, I went to their user page and found the WP:CMM so I join, I then did a little research and found your the creator of the project, I most likely would never of heard of you if you weren't the creator of the project. – Jerryteps 23:11, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Thestridelogo.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Thestridelogo.jpg.
Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 02:22, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Copy-and-paste moves
[edit]Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently copied the contents of a page and pasted it into another with a different name. Specifically, you copied the contents of Holy Blood This is what we call a "cut and paste move", and it is very undesirable because it splits the article's history, which is needed for attribution and is helpful in many other ways. The mechanism we use for renaming articles is to move it to a new name which both preserves the page's history and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. In most cases, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. If there is an article that you cannot move yourself by this process, follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Requested moves to request the move by another. Also, if there are any other articles that you copied and pasted, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. --Kralizec! Nostradamus
[edit]I'm doing the best I can to improve Nostradamus (album) so I can justify changing my vote; I really don't like supporting the deletion of anything at all, and was hoping that I could get someone else to do the legwork of improving the article to the point where other people can read and not complain about it. There are some things that I think should be in it, such as it being a 'concept' album, but I don't know enough about the subject material to write about it. At the moment, I'm still scouring for more references. Cel Talk to me 05:14, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

Nostradamus (album)
[edit]Did KK Downing say "there's over 90 minutes of music so it could be Priest's first double album"? Or did he just say they recorded all that music and he doesn't really want to cut it down? —Hello, Control Hello, Tony 17:32, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
