Talk:Alan flyng From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search
I am surprised to see Mr. Anthony Bradbury delete a more or less full Bio of Mr. Alan Flyng, even though I had contented the speedy deletion notice and referred to Mr. Flyng's colleagues (wikipedia articles, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerald_home and mr. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toby_Philpott ) who I mentioned in my hold notice certainly could vouch for Mr. Flyng's work and importance to the art world.
I would say that if Mr. Bradbury was a competent editor, he would, if he felt the page was incomplete help complete the page or list it properly as a stub.
He could also have asked me to have the mentioned gentlemen vouch for Mr. Flyngs artistic importance.
I had listed movies in which Mr. Flyng had starred and a multitude of movies for which he had been responsible for wardrobe creation etc.
Mr. Flyng is listed in IMDB who recognizes him as important enough to list his achievements.
As far as I know there were no links to dead pages, yes a profile picture was missing, but I did not have a picture to put on the profile that was in the creative commons. I know the IMDB homepage link to Mr, Flyngs personal page is outdated, but the link in the wikipedia article was to Mr. Flyngs proper official site which he was forced to move to after extremists hacked his previous site.
Just to make another reference to Mr. Flyngs importance I'm enclosing a snippet from IMDB.
From IMDB: Overview IMDb Resume: View Alan Flyng's more detailed resume. STARmeter: ? Up 40% in popularity this week. See why on IMDbPro.
I would ask that the page I created is restored and that Wikipedia instead as is usual asks people to contribute to the page.
I can also inform that Mr. Flyng was at an event in Taastrup in Denmark alongside the two formerly mentioned gentlemen, two weeks later at a scifi event in England, a guest lecturer at art schools, I am surprised that Mr. Anthony Bradbury simply deletes the page without even wanting to enter into a discussion as I had contended the speedy deletion notice.
I would actually like to hear a very detailed explanation as to why the page was deleted and propose that we instead of counteracting each other cooperate to make the page live up to the standards apparently required.
I will be posting the text of the page when I get home to my regular computer so that people can see what excactly has been deleted. All we can hope for is that nobody deletes this page to bury the previous deletions.. —Preceding unsigned comment added by E petersen (talk • contribs) 15:39, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
