Vandalism at Level 3

If you want to talk with an antisocial nerd with Autism, you've come to the right place! Or if you want a semi-live count of my award progress, you can find that here too! I am not very good at Wikipedia, so there might be some glitches.

A belated welcome!

[edit]
The welcome may be belated, but the cookies are still warm!

Here's wishing you a belated welcome to Wikipedia, ERBuermann! I see that you've already been around a while and wanted to thank you for your contributions. Though you seem to have been successful in finding your way around, you may still benefit from following some of the links below, which help editors get the most out of Wikipedia:

Need some ideas of what kind of things need doing? Try the Task Center.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Again, welcome! ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 13:46, 4 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Saw you from an AIV report about an IP harassing you. It's really annoying that some people have ntohing better to do than harass those who disagree with them. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 13:47, 4 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
They sure are annoying! Thanks for the cookies! ERBuermann (talk) 13:49, 4 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No problem! Funnily enough I am also autistic. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 15:15, 4 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
What a coincedence! ERBuermann (talk) 15:28, 4 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Actually quite the opposite. I've discovered that Wikipedia tends to be the place for neurodivergent editors such as the both of us, so it's way more common than you think. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 15:30, 4 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That's quite interesting. ERBuermann (talk) 15:35, 4 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No problem! ERBuermann (talk) 19:30, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Those are for editors to award themselves. These are not meant to be given to bots.

I've retained the one for ClueBot given the humorous nature of the /Praise page, but I've reverted the others. If you want to give bots (or rather, Bot operators) a barnstar or some other form of Wikilove, consider {{The da Vinci Barnstar}}, or {{The Bot Creator Barnstar}}. Ok, thank you for the heads up! Sorry for any issues that caused! ERBuermann (talk) 13:54, 9 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

List of all Pirate Jokes

[edit]

For the purposes of this list, pirate jokes are jokes that fit the following criteria:

1. They follow a question-answer format (Why did the chicken cross the road? to get to the other side!)

2. The question is asking about what a pirate's favorite item of a certain category is, what a pirate likes to do, or other things associated with a pirate. It can also be along the lines of "Have you heard...?" (see examples below).

3. The answer (the punchline) of the joke must be a word or phrase that contains International Phonetic Alphabet letter ɑːr within its standard pronunciation (stARt, ARt, spAR).

4. The phonetic sound described in criterion 3 must be emphasized, in the same way pirates stereotypical make the same sound.

Examples:

What is a pirate's favorite element? Arrrgon!

Did you hear that the pirate was the target of economic sanctions? Yeah, he was embarrrgoed!

For the purposes of this list, please adhere to the following stylization guidelines:

1. Jokes shall be listed in the following order, in decreasing priority:
   a. Alphabetically, by the "pirated" word of the punchline,
   b. Chronologically, by original post date.
2. The "pirated" section of the punchline (the part with the a:r phonetic sound) will be typed "arrr" (1 "a" followed by 3 "r"s)
3. The "pirated" section of the punchline will be emphasized with italics.
4. If it is grammatically correct, capitalize as needed.
5. While the goal of this list is to have the most different "pirated" words, if you have a joke that you would like to share, but the "pirated" word has already been used, list your joke below the original, in accordance with rule 1.

Edit in the indicated location with your entries. Make sure to sign your joke!

Why did the pirate cross the road? I don't know, it seems like a completely Arrrbitrary choice! ERBuermann (talk) 13:42, 10 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
What is a pirate's favorite element? Arrrgon! ERBuermann (talk) 21:08, 9 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
What is a pirate's favorite type of sock? Arrrgyle! ERBuermann (talk) 21:10, 9 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
What D&D class did the pirate play? He was a Barrrd who multiclassed as a rogue because he is a pirate! ERBuermann (talk) 21:21, 9 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Did you hear that the pirate was the target of economic sanctions? Yeah, he was embarrrgoed! ERBuermann (talk) 21:08, 9 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

How does a pirate seal leaks in his roof? He uses tarrr! ERBuermann (talk) 21:18, 9 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'm assuming this edit was meant as innocent banter and not a deliberate personal attack, but don't do that on Wikipedia, especially not on a talk page for an IP address belonging to a school/school district, where a young child independent of the person you were directing that at could be the one who sees the "you have a message" alert and then Wikipedia's reputation is hurt because now we're "cyberbullying" children. Additionally, since people editing from that IP were vandalizing, you are feeding the troll with comments like that. PCHS-NJROTC (Messages)Have a blessed day. 20:30, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for reverting that! I had forgotten that I had said that, and, in hindsight, that was a bad idea. ERBuermann (talk) 22:09, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If humour is forbidden on certain Talk:s then there must be an editing banner to say so. I know I will never remember or worry about this. Invasive Spices (talk) 18:59, 14 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
