[edit]Hello, I'm Chesnaught555. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —the one you made with this edit to Dayco— because it didn’t appear constructive to me. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Ches (talk) (contribs) 11:19, 3 April 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Dayco
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Dayco, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Jax 0677 (talk) 19:33, 10 May 2016 (UTC)
Hello Jax 0677, I'm working to add also more articles about story of this company, is this ok? let me know how I can clean this page to be inline with Wikipedia policy, thanks.
Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, ER.Digital. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Dayco, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:
- avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
- instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
- when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Lemongirl942 (talk) 03:03, 23 May 2016 (UTC)
Dear Lemongirl942, I'm confused since on Wikipedia there many other articles related to a company. please provide more details to help me better understand where is teh issue with Dayco page. Thanks.
Hello, I'm 2602:306:3357:BA0:91E8:E17D:94F7:FE1C. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Dayco has been undone because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Hello 2602:306:3357:BA0:91E8:E17D:94F7:FE1C, pleas let me know why a SLogan update is considered Vandalism. Thanks!
Wikipedia and copyright
[edit]Hello ER.Digital, and welcome to Wikipedia. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Widr (talk) 20:53, 24 May 2016 (UTC)

[edit]Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:
- Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
- With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.
This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
Thank you. --Jax 0677 (talk) 21:12, 24 May 2016 (UTC)
Talkback
[edit]You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
Also, it helps the flow of conversation immensely if you sign your posts. Four tildes will do it. Cheers, Tazerdadog (talk) 06:49, 27 May 2016 (UTC)

[edit]If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Request reason:
I apologize for the mistake on using my account editing the Dayco wiki page; I kindly ask to re-eanble the account so I will be respectful on the future for all editing I will do. ALso. let me add that my user has nothing to do with https://www.erdigitalmarketing.com/ and I have NO relationships with this marketing company! Thanks
Decline reason:
If you wish to be unblocked, you'll have to follow the instructions above. Yamla (talk) 13:11, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:
Let me explain better: I think there was a misunderstanding where my account name is very close to a digital marketing company. I edited the Dayco article adding just two additional main customers and hoenstly I don't see any promotional strategy doing this. Let me know if you need more details. Once again I'm not related to any marketing company working for Dayco. Thanks
Decline reason:
I do not find your explanation plausible. Even if I did, you still need to follow the instructions above to propose a new username. At a minimum, to be unblocked you will need to agree to not edit about Dayco or any other clients, and I suspect other conditions will be needed but I will leave that up to the next reviewing admininstrator. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 20:14, 7 January 2019 (UTC)

- It does appear that the username connection to ER digital marketing is indeed coincidental (so there's no need for a username change)
but you'd have to at minimum disclose your connection to Dayco per WP:PAID (there's off-wiki evidence of such that I can email to any reviewing admin if necessary)and all your accounts, including Special:Contributions/Enzo.rabante. Galobtter (pingó mió) 07:21, 8 January 2019 (UTC)- Scratch that, you've disclosed in [1], but as 331dot said since your edits are purely promotional to Dayco you'd need to stop editing it if you want to be unblocked. Request reason:
All clear for me; I will stop editing for Dayco. Let me know next steps to have my account again active. Thanks
Decline reason:
No. Too many issues here for me to be happy unblocking. Inappropriate use of multiple accounts, copyright violations, undisclosed paid editing, conflicts of interest - you've amassed a laundry list of violations, and Wikipedia is better off without your contributions. - Describe the constructive edits you would make. I suppose placing the WP:PAID disclosure {{paid|employer= Dayco}} on your user page would be in order.-- Dlohcierekim (talk) 05:32, 10 January 2019 (UTC)

- Dlohcierekim, They did not use another account to evade the block but they did use multiple accounts to edit Dayco, hence my comment about disclosing all their accounts and being frank here about it. Galobtter (pingó mió) 05:49, 10 January 2019 (UTC)

Request reason:
To summarize: ok I'm a Dayco employee so this is not a Copyright violation because I'm authorized to publish for Dayco, Unfortunately I used the second account for mistake and I no longer need second account enabled. I don't understand where the conflict of interest is.
Decline reason:
It should be pretty obvious why this request must be declined. You are unaware of copyright concerns (it is irrelevant if you are authorized, the point is that the Wikimedia Foundation is not; authorization cannot be granted by random user accounts). Also you fail to understand the basic concept of conflict of interest: your interest is in publicity for your company, which conflicts with Wikipedia's interest in building an online encyclopedia of human knowledge. As a user with a conflict of interest, you are not permitted to make any substantive changes to the article about your company; at most you can propose changes on the article's talk page. Until you can convince us that you understand the relevant guidelines (WP:COI and WP:COPVIO for starters, as well as WP:NOTPROMOTION), and explain what you plan to do here if you cannot edit your company's article, there is no discernible benefit to the Wikipedia project in unblocking this account. ~Anachronist (talk) 05:20, 12 January 2019 (UTC)

- Sorry, no on copyright. Content copyrighted anywhere else cannot be used on Wikipedia regardless on who adds it. Content on Wikipedia must be licensed and licensable under GFDL or creative commons or released to the public domain. The gist of this is anyone can use the content in anyway so long as they say where they got it. "There is no way to say 'you can use this in Wikipedia, but not anywhere else or in derivative works.' Also, because some derivative works may be commercial, we cannot accept materials that are licensed only for educational use or even for general non-commercial use." Does your company really want to give up control of its copyright? The source must explicitly state that it is CC, GFDL or public domain on the source (copyleft). Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more info.
- There are other problems with material added from company sources. It is often, by its nature, promotional in tone. Also, it does not meet the requirements set forth at WP:42.
- As you will not being editing Dayco directly, this issue should be moot. However, I would not recommend unblocking until you have a better understanding of what material can and cannot be used on Wikipedia.12:25, 10 January 2019 (UTC)
