Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Curing (food preservation) do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Dennis Brown (talk) 13:01, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Thermosetting polymer. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. It is obviously by your name that you are here to promote your website. Please don't bother. Adding inappropriate websites to a series of articles will only get them reverted back, get your website blacklisted and get you blocked. Unless a website passes WP:RS and is appropriate to the article, it should not be included. Dennis Brown (talk) 13:03, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Check weigher ‎. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Dennis Brown (talk) 17:05, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for using Wikipedia only to add spam links. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

So we can edit our company page and update the information for Mettler-Toledo

Decline reason:

From your use of 'we' it appears that this account is shared. Wikipedia does not allow shared accounts. Moreover, you will not be unblocked to edit your company's article - please see WP:COI. Nick-D (talk) 09:29, 24 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Dear Admin, I requested to be unblocked to change the username because it does not full-fill the requirements of the username policy. Furthermore I learned that we cannot edit the page. But with a proper username, we can send an "edit page" request to the admins. I read through all policies and guidelines I found. I don't share my account and I haven't tried to take any action before the username is changed into the new policy conform username. I know that this causes another block of my account. With "we" I meant the company in total, which I am part of. This didn't mean anybody else is using the account. I would be more than happy though to follow-up internally to see what happened here and how this can be avoided in the future. Thank you very much for your support in advance Best regards

Unblocked

[edit]

Per your request on unblock-en-l, I'm unblocking your account to allow you to file a rename request. Please put your request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking and always remember to follow WP:BESTCOI. Cheers. Salvio Let's talk about it! 10:52, 31 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked again

[edit]

Since, after nearly 2 and a half months, you have not requested a change of username, the unblock does not seem to be serving any purpose. In addition, other accounts which appear to be very probably the same person have been continuing the same kind of unacceptable editing, which makes it seem unlikely that you would be a constructive contributor. Consequently, the block has been restored. JamesBWatson (talk) 12:48, 13 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thank you for your email. In it, you said that you had put in a change of username request. However, I can't find that request. It certainly was not posted by this account, did you use another account to do it? If you want to be unblocked again, you should post a new unblock request, in which you should explain what editing you plan to do (which should not be promotion for your company), and offer a new username which does not seem to represent your company. I also suggest explaining exactly what your relationship is to the other accounts which were adding the same links as this account. JamesBWatson (talk) 19:16, 24 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Someone attempted here, but they spelled the old name wrong (la->al), and asked for the change as an IP, making it a bit hard to find and impossible to fulfill. I can't say whether or not that matters, but wanted to link that for you. Dennis Brown © 16:22, 25 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
