Welcome

[edit]

Hello, EPoulbot, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Wikipedia Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} and your question on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

We hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on talk and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 14:34, 15 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a directory or advertising platform or free webhost. We care about what third parties have stated about the subject, not what the subject proclaims and wants to promote about itself. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 14:34, 15 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia with this username. This is because your username, EPoulbot, does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below) and continue editing.

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you think that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Bbb23 (talk) 14:53, 15 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

If my username schould not endup with bot, why creating it several month ago, by the way it is my name...

Decline reason:

Procedural decline. See request below. Bbb23 (talk) 20:10, 15 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Your statement is somewhat incoherent, but this block is easy to fix. As the notice says, you can ask to be renamed or you can create a new account without "bot" in the name. If you choose to create a new account. I suggest you put a notice on the EPoulbot userpage and the new account's userpage disclosing the other account so there's no confusion later by other editors as to why you have two accounts. And obviously you should stop editing with EPoulbot and edit only with the new account. It's your choice, but a rename is cleaner.--Bbb23 (talk) 15:42, 15 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Given that you are writing about the organization TPEG, that user name is also of questionable acceptability. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 19:31, 15 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I'll go further that. It is unacceptable per policy. Pick another name (just amend the existing request rather than create another request).--Bbb23 (talk) 20:11, 15 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
