Help Me

I have a Question How can I add a template on my or any page Priyanshu Rajkumar Jaiswal (talk) 15:26, 17 September 2020 (UTC)

@Priyanshu Rajkumar Jaiswal: Hello! You can add templates very easily to your page. All templates consist of the name of the template, surrounded by double curly brackets { }. For instance, if the template was called template1, I would simply type {{template1}} and the template would appear.
Sometimes you need to add parameters to them, and you would do so by adding a | between them. Here is a simple example: Did you notice the @Priyanshu Rajkumar Jaiswal: at the beginning of my response? Well, that was made with a template! The exact code that I typed was {{ping|Priyanshu Rajkumar Jaiswal}}. You see, the template itself is just {{ping}}, but I needed to add your username so that the template knew who to alert, thats why I added the |Priyanshu Rajkumar Jaiswal inside of it.
You can find a list of every template used on Wikipedia here and here is a quick guide to them. May I ask what particular template you are trying to use so that I could help you further? Also, try using the {{ping}} template to alert me to your message to see if you can use your first template! Thanks, EDG 543 (talk) 16:27, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) {{ping}} is uncommon because it needs to be added in the same edit as a signature, ~~~~, in order to notify the user. Without a signature it's just a link to the userpage. Cabayi (talk) 16:34, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
Oh, I actually didn't know that. I've never had a reason to use it without a signature. Also, why are you stalking my talk page? Thanks, EDG 543 (talk) 16:37, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
It got added to my watchlist when I edited it yesterday. Cabayi (talk) 17:21, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
Oh, that makes sense. You can remove it now; if I need your assistance, I will either ping you or just put it on your talkpage. Thanks, EDG 543 (talk) 18:06, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
Thank you EDG 543
As you say yesterday via welcome message to Wikipedia to me, you also say me to ask any questions if required Priyanshu Rajkumar Jaiswal (talk) 16:58, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
@Priyanshu Rajkumar Jaiswal: You are welcome! And I am so sorry for the confusion, I was not asking why you were stalking my talk page because you weren't, I was just talking to Cabayi, who added some extra info for you. Please, if you have any more questions, leave them here and I will happily help you! Sorry for the confusion. Thanks, EDG 543 (talk) 17:03, 17 September 2020 (UTC)

Curious

What about this edit you reverted was advertising or promotion? Praxidicae (talk) 17:44, 23 September 2020 (UTC)

Armenian propaganda and your bias

Seems like you're the problem user. I explained my reasoning but it didn't fit your narrative. You're biased from what anybody can tell from your page. Keep this place impartial please. 94.120.114.41 (talk) 12:54, 29 September 2020 (UTC)

I am not a problem user. You continually remove references. If the references were so biased, why didn't you remove the content that they were referencing? Thanks, EDG 543 (talk) 13:03, 29 September 2020 (UTC)
I gave the explanation for the removal: Biased unreliable sources. FYI: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Administrators%27_noticeboard/Incidents#Unfair_blocking_of_my_IP 157.167.128.180 (talk) 06:45, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
94.120.114.41, you are the problem and that's why you were banned again. --Serols (talk) 08:36, 5 October 2020 (UTC)

You messaged me....

What's biased about me including or adding the fact a Leadoff hitter has a walk at his disposal to get on base? I do so want to learn. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.26.239.100 (talk) 02:07, 6 October 2020 (UTC)

@76.26.239.100: When I read it, I thought it seemed a bit biased, maybe you are right, I used the wrong word. Either way, it was unencyclopediac. "by fouling off trashy pitches" was the main issue. Thanks, EDG 543 (talk) 12:38, 6 October 2020 (UTC)

Maplewashing article

Hi EDG543.

For your message [1], kindly see the discussion on the talk page for the Maplewashing page. As I made clear there, I am removing anything that does not use the term "maplewashing" as that would be a FORK (Wikipedia:Content forking) transgression. Thanks and I hope this explanation will suffice. Festerhauer (talk) 01:56, 9 October 2020 (UTC)

Festerhauer, that isn't what the definition of content forking is. I've explained it on the talk page anyway. Blanking an article entirely with just inadequate edit summaries is not a good look either way and could obviously be misinterpreted. Telsho (talk) 04:39, 9 October 2020 (UTC)
@Festerhauer: My apologies, friend. I didn't notice that before. I just thought you were blanking the page. Thank you for kindly letting me know instead of acting hysterically, as some editors tend to do. Thanks, EDG 543 (talk) 02:04, 9 October 2020 (UTC)
No problems. Happy to let you know. Festerhauer (talk) 02:17, 9 October 2020 (UTC)

OnePlus 8T moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, OnePlus 8T, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. noq (talk) 14:39, 14 October 2020 (UTC)

Rollback granted

Hi EDG 543. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Cabayi (talk) 11:34, 17 October 2020 (UTC)

It might be worth your while reviewing the three questionable uses identified by Anarchyte on your request. Rollback is a useful tool, but it means you'd be excusing yourself from giving guidance to AGF editors. Please be sure to use it only on vandalism edits. Hope that helps, Cabayi (talk) 11:42, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
Cabayi Thank you very much. Thank you for giving me a second chance and seeing past my blunder. You won't have to worry about me repeating my prior incident. As for those issues, I will be more careful in the future. Thanks, EDG 543 (message me) 01:17, 18 October 2020 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Gmail Screenshot (Android).jpg

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Gmail Screenshot (Android).jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:30, 18 October 2020 (UTC)

Pending changes reviewer granted

Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.

Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

Pending edit approved

Kia ora EDG 543, with this edit here, I am unsure why you approved it? There was no source and a quick google doesn't confirm the possible upcoming match? NZFC(talk)(cont) 02:05, 20 October 2020 (UTC)
NZFC, Hello, friend. A quick search revealed sources for the Baley vs Sasha Banks match [2], which was cited, and the Jeff Hardy vs Elias match [3]. I'm no wrestling expert, but am I missing something? Thanks, EDG 543 (message me) 12:35, 20 October 2020 (UTC)
Hey EDG 543 thanks for your reply, the Baley v Sasha match wasn't in doubt as it was cited. The Jeff Hardy v Elias match when added wasn't cited. I did a search but didn't find the link, I want to say that article wasn't published when I looked and IP jumped the gun before it had been but can't be sure. Either way, happy to see it has a source now and it can be added. Again, thanks for replying. NZFC(talk)(cont) 12:49, 20 October 2020 (UTC)
NZFC, no problem, friend. If there are any more issues, just let me know. I make plenty of mistakes. Have a nice day. Thanks, EDG 543 (message me) 12:52, 20 October 2020 (UTC)

I've already re-blocked that IP with their ability to edit their talk-page disabled, because they carried on with the personal attacks in edit summaries. Just disengage in these kinds of circumstances, there's nothing to be gained by arguing with vandals! Cheers ~ mazca talk 22:01, 21 October 2020 (UTC)

Thank you, my apologies. Keep up the good work, friend. Thanks, EDG 543 (message me) 22:34, 21 October 2020 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Samsung Galaxy A51.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Samsung Galaxy A51.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ytoyoda (talk) 18:55, 26 October 2020 (UTC)

Template:COVID-19 pandemic data/United States medical cases by state

Hi, and thanks for updating this page. When doing so, can you please also update the date of the state report and the date that you accessed it (and the total number of cases and deaths in the chart)? That way, when other editors are on the page, they can tell more easily which states were updated most recently and pay attention to those that in need of more recent updates. Thanks for your help.

Ira

Ira Leviton (talk) 20:49, 8 December 2020 (UTC)

Ira Leviton, I am always careful to update the total cases and deaths (you may have noticed the " <!-- *************** PLEASE UPDATE THE TOTAL CASES AND DEATHS AFTER EACH ADDITION! *************** --> " at the top of the template that I put there to encourage others, who seem to somehow manage to miss it) and my apologies for not updating the date, I wasn't aware that I was supposed to do that, otherwise I would've been doing it all along. Thank you for pointing that out to me. I always wanted to thank you for you lengthy updates to the template. Yesterday, I set aside a few hours to update the whole thing but you beat me to it by just a few minutes! Thank you for your dedication to the project and I hope to beat you to the next major update. :) Thanks, EDG 543 (message me) 20:59, 8 December 2020 (UTC)
Sorry – I didn't realize you were the one who left the message about updating the totals.
I try to update this page once a week. I think it's important because it's an ongoing current event, and if we want people to use this page, it has to be kept reasonably up to date. But I'm sure you've also discovered that it's hard to find the time. It takes me about three hours to update the entries for all 50 states and territories, and that's only if there are no interruptions.
Ira
Ira Leviton (talk) 17:45, 9 December 2020 (UTC)
Ira Leviton, I normally do smaller, periodic updates for the most populous states when I don't have the time for a full overhaul. I also try to update the state of Illinois everyday, as that is the state I reside in. Also, you are correct, updating all of the states is very time-consuming and tedious and few people want to tackle it, which is probably why the table was woefully behind when I first started to help update. It is nice to know that you are working hard to keep it up-to-date. Thanks, EDG 543 (message me) 18:18, 9 December 2020 (UTC)

For researchers in any field, the relevant standard is not whether there are third party sources to meet GNG. The relevant standard is WP:PROF., and that is normally met by showing the person to be influential in their subject as demonstrated by citations to their work, or , in the humanities, by books they have published. I've consequently accepted several academic bio articles you've declined using gng. Their publications are the necessary 3rd party sources; therr bio can be documented from any RS, such as their CV, even though it is not independent. DGG ( talk ) 09:03, 26 July 2021 (UTC)

Hello,

WP:AFC Helper News

Hello! I wanted to drop a quick note for all of our AFC participants; nothing huge and fancy like a newsletter, but a few points of interest.

  • AFCH will now show live previews of the comment to be left on a decline.
  • The template {{db-afc-move}} has been created - this template is similar to {{db-move}} when there is a redirect in the way of an acceptance, but specifically tells the patrolling admin to let you (the draft reviewer) take care of the actual move.

Short and sweet, but there's always more to discuss at WT:AFC. Stop on by, maybe review a draft on the way? Whether you're one of our top reviewers, or haven't reviewed in a while, I want to thank you for helping out in the past and in the future. How long and what did it take to gain the rights you have now (rollbacker & etc)?? Just curious Neoinsession (talk) 18:24, 16 February 2022 (UTC)

@Neoinsession: Hullo there, friend. I hope you are having a wonderful day thus far. To answer the first part of your question, it took me just under three years from my account creation to gain the permission of rollbacker, three years and one month for pending changes reviewer, and nearly three years and eight months for autopatrolled. However, these results may not be typical, as I didn't seek to gain any of these rights for a while after creating my account. Most (if not all) rights are given after you have met certain criteria specific to each right and apply to be considered. You can click here to request the rollback permission (which generally requires 200+ mainspace edits prior to consideration) and click here to request the autopatrolled permission (which generally requires the creation of 25+ articles prior to consideration). I see you have already requested the permission of pending changes reviewer, where an editor advised you to wait a while due to your general lack of experience in the field. If you plan on submitting requests for any permissions, please be sure to carefully read the general criteria for consideration to better your chances of being granted the permission. I would be happy to help you with anything else you may need. Have a very nice day. Thanks, EDG 543 (message me) 19:49, 16 February 2022 (UTC)

Features for new users coming soon (and mentors, like you, wanted!)

Hello. As you're currently listed as a host at the Teahouse, I wanted to make sure you're aware of the imminent rollout of new Growth Team Features which every new account will be getting by default. Each users will soon see a new 'Homepage' tab next to their User page. It contains two main elements which might impact on your involvement - and you'd be welcome to get involved and help out directly with one of them.

  • Firstly, they will be offered a range of 'suggested edits', and encouraged to make simple improvements to pages that interest them. (Being aware of this feature would be helpful for all Teahouse hosts if you're likely to offer advice on tasks for them to start out doing.)
  • There's also a 'Your impact' box to show them how many people have seen the pages they've just edited.
  • Finally, each new user is randomly assigned a 'mentor' from a list of friendly, experienced editors, like yourself. If they get stuck, they can ask a question directly to them via a Your mentor box, and hopefully get a swift, friendly answer from that mentor. Currently, this feature is given to 2% of new users, but it's set to increase to around 10% in the very near future.

To spread the load on our current list of around 65 mentors, I'm reaching out to ask if you'd like to help out and sign up as one? The workload is relatively small; User Panini! reports receiving four questions a month, on average, all of which were simple ones of the type we already get at the Teahouse, whilst I've had just one in the last 3 weeks. To view a list of every question asked of all mentors over the last 14 days, click here.

If becoming a mentor and being available to help new users on their first few days here interests you - just as have done at the Teahouse in the past - then please consider signing up at Growth Team features/Mentor list. But please only do so if you are genuinely willing to be available to help. Existing users can already 'opt-in' to seeing the Newcomer Homepage features via their Preferences.

Thank you! Nick Moyes (talk) 14:32, 25 February 2022 (UTC)

Question from Closerthan6 (02:23, 14 April 2022)

how may i correct a factual error - in the bio of a living person? I am a former Harvard faculty member and Harvard AB, PhD and MBA. I am a serious person and wish to correct a profile in Wiki.

I am not sure how to do this. Please let me know. --Closerthan6 (talk) 02:23, 14 April 2022 (UTC)

Hello, Closerthan6. Correcting a factual error is quite simple. First, make sure you have a reliable source or two that corroborates this change. Then, you can simply click the "Edit" button at the top right of the article (you can switch from the source editor to the Visual Editor if that would be easier for you). Then, simply make the necessary change yourself. Makes sure to cite your sources. Click here if you need a bit of help. If you still don't understand, just shoot me another message. Hope you have a nice day :) Thanks, EDG 543 (message me) 13:14, 14 April 2022 (UTC)

Question from CliffChapman40 (13:21, 18 April 2022)

Hello! I need to sort a professional entry for myself. One was rejected, erroneously (and arguably grounds for defamation!) as "unsuccessful actor" which is not true, and has I believe negatively impacted some work opportunities. I can provide full evidence that I am a professionally trained, registered, represented and working actor with professional recognisable credits. Please would you help me create a basic page that can remain active and ensure it does not fall foul of the rather over-enthusiastic and poorly researched cruelty of last time! Thank you! --CliffChapman40 (talk) 13:21, 18 April 2022 (UTC)

Hello, CliffChapman40. Did you create this article with a different account? This appears to be your first edit. Thanks, EDG 543 (message me) 13:26, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
My partner created the dead article for me originally under her account, some years ago, and attempts have been made since to provide evidence the moderation decision was wrong to deaf ears under that account. I've started a new account to try and sort this, as having ignored it for a while it concerns me a search will negatively impact work opportunites. But yes, this is a new account specifically to try and resolve this issue! Thank you CliffChapman40 (talk) 13:31, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
CliffChapman40, was there a deletion discussion? If so, could you provide the link? Thanks, EDG 543 (message me) 13:32, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
I don't know I'm afraid. Only that the article was rejected as "unsuccessful actor" and appears if you google.
https://en.every**bodywiki.com/Cliff_Chapman seems to be a clone of the original deleted article
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blake%27s_7_(audio_drama) contains several mentions of me (I play Tyrric in Happy Ever After and Madison in the Avalon dramas).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robin_of_Sherwood:_The_Knights_Of_The_Apocalypse features me
And this article references me
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Future_Boys_Trilogy
I am also referenced for quotes several times as a reviewer and features writer for Den of Geek.

Remove ** to make that link work, wiki bans the untampered link! CliffChapman40 (talk) 13:38, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
CliffChapman40, well, before you attempt to recreate this article, please carefully read [WP:COI[|this guideline]], it explains many important rules for writing about yourself, including this need to disclose your conflict of interest. You may also benefit from reading Wikipedia:An article about yourself isn't necessarily a good thing. Then, you should identify multiple, reliable sources to validate the information that will be included in the article. Then, click here to begin a draft. Thanks, EDG 543 (message me) 13:54, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
Thank you. If I post the link here will you be able to to review it for me please? I've also received a message from another mod panicking that I seem to be trying to threaten legal action. I'm not, I just want a simple article and that "unsucessful" note taken away, which is an easier life for everyone. No one's got the time or the money for all that nonsense, sure we can resolve things! But it WAS harmful to my business and the dispute process ignored me at the time. I'll make the article. Many thanks. CliffChapman40 (talk) 14:06, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
CliffChapman40, well, to comment on the supposed legal threats, you must avoid calling editor's actions "defamation" without very clear proof. Also, when creating this article, please make sure you know your intentions. Are you creating the article to better your career/reputation? If that's the case, you should avoid creating the article yourself. Wikipedia does not exist for that purpose; it only exists to provide unbiased facts, whether the facts are helpful or harmful to the subject's career. I am not accusing you of do this, I am just making sure you are aware of this. Thanks, EDG 543 (message me) 14:16, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
Thanks. The intention of the article is not promotion, merely logging existence and I am more than happy to work with you to finesse the text to ensure that comes across. My name has existed in wiki The Future Boys article as a stub for some time for example. Referenced in factual articles, and my name is also in several cast lists of productions, some of which have clickable links to actors pages, and with an extensive audio drama CV particularly in sci fi and fantasy, where fans of those franchises appreciate being able to look up contributors, I believe its existence is justified. Should there be no article, and no mention of a deleted article with "unsuccessful actor on it (which *was* innaccurate, and personally and professionally harmful, but my point is I want to move on from that, I'm not here to give people a hard time or make them worry, just try and start afresh)", that would be also acceptable. My CV is largely comprised of contributions to professional licensed sci fi and fantasy productions, with the fans (especially Doctor Who and Blake's 7 fans) being keen on researching and logging contributors, so I believe sufficient (certainly no *less* sufficient) than many other creatives with wiki pages. Again, the last thing I want is any friction or aggression. All I seek is a basic page no more or less than many creatives with my professional experience or less. I hope you can empathise with that motive. The draft is here, very happy to work with you and tweak to what you think would be acceptable. I am having trouble trying to work out how to code the evidential links correctly, but am trying to puzzle it out: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Cliff_Chapman_(Actor) Again, enormous thanks for your time on this, I appreciate you've responded to it very quickly. CliffChapman40 (talk) 14:56, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
Further to this, two other mods seem to be following this and another one has already rejected the article. Per this whole discussion, it would be GREATLY appreciated if I could just deal with one person on this and resolve it satisfactorily and properly. I recognise Spotlight etc may not be over familiar to overseas reviewers. I will add IMDB, although the bulk of my work is audio drama rather than screen. Again, it may need to be stressed that it is not a binary of "Hollywood Movie and TV actor" or "not actor" in terms of performers. CliffChapman40 (talk) 15:00, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
CliffChapman40, just to be clear, their are no "mods" on Wikipedia. They are just fellow editors, not unlike you and I. The reviewer pointed out that your draft lacks reliable sources to show the subject's notability. The Audible link doesn't add much to your draft. equity.org.uk won't load for me, but likely doesn't mention you specifically on that exact page. Am I correct? indiemacuser.co.uk seems to be nothing more than a personal blog that doesn't even mention you. Radio Times seems to be a solid source but, once again, does not mention you. You'll need to find a number of reliable sources that not just mention you, but some that are written actually about you. Thanks, EDG 543 (message me) 15:16, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Cliff_Chapman_(Actor) I've udpated again. The indiemac review doesn't seem to have gone over in full - it did mention me originally. I've resisted adding direct retail links from the publishers as that would seem to be promotional. Would they be better? https://www.audible.co.uk/search?keywords=cliff+chapman&ref-override=a_ep_row_t1_header_search&k=cliff+chapman or https://www.bigfinish.com/search_results?search_value_selected=0&search_term=cliff+chapman? Thank you! CliffChapman40 (talk) 15:21, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
CliffChapman40, the References section is a bit messy. Avoid just throwing links down there. Any in-text citations will automatically appear. Any additional links can be added in an "External links" section. Regarding the links that you have included above, it is never a good idea to simply include a link to search results. Question from The girls from.u.h (17:54, 18 April 2022)

can i creat an artical about myself --The girls from.u.h (talk) 17:54, 18 April 2022 (UTC)

The girls from.u.h, yes, you can. However, it is not recommended due to your inherent conflict of interest. It is recommended that you read over the conflict of interest guidelines prior to attempting this. You may also want to view Wikipedia:An article about yourself isn't necessarily a good thing as well. If you still think it is a good idea after reading both of those, shoot me another message and I'll help you get started. Thanks, EDG 543 (message me) 17:59, 18 April 2022 (UTC)

So how do I set up a public Wikipedia page? --Gabriel shoe (talk) 20:47, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
Gabriel shoe, the first step is determining the subject of the article. What would you like to write about? Thanks, EDG 543 (message me) 21:02, 18 April 2022 (UTC)

Question from Septonomic (21:00, 20 April 2022)

Hello! I was wondering how to get a message appended to my user page that someone had, stating something along the lines of 'This user has no bad intentions. If they do something wrong, please notify them!' with a picture of an emoji with a halo. What is this and how do I append this to /my/ user page? :) --Septonomic (talk) 21:00, 20 April 2022 (UTC)

Update: I have figured it out. If you are going to reply, please do so! :) Septonomic (talk) 22:10, 20 April 2022 (UTC)
Septonomic, great job figuring it out! If you need any help in the future, don't hesitate to message me again. Thanks, EDG 543 (message me) 11:21, 21 April 2022 (UTC)

Question from Septonomic (19:33, 23 April 2022)

Hi,

Are you allowed to make a sub-page for your user page that describes what you do? For example, User:Septonomic/About

If so, how should I do it? As in not WHAT I do, but what I SHOULD do. --Septonomic (talk) 19:33, 23 April 2022 (UTC)

Septonomic, yes, you are allowed to make such sub-pages. In order to do it, simply search for the exact title of the page you wish to create (for example, User:Septonomic/About). Then, you should be given the option to create the page. Just be sure that you keep any and all subpages related to Wikipedia (not a blog, memior, advertisement, etc.). Happy editing and make sure to keep the questions coming my way! Thanks, EDG 543 (message me) 00:03, 24 April 2022 (UTC)

Moved Await Further Instructions back

Hey, just wanted to let you know this was back. This never should have been sent to the draftspace. While not all reviews on Rotten Tomatoes are reliable, there were plenty on there to justify it being notable. You were also clearly still working on the article when it was moved, which is another reason it shouldn't have been moved. The person didn't do any WP:BEFORE as far as I can see.

I'm also baffled as to why it was repeatedly declined at AfC. Not all of the sources were good, but there was enough to establish notability and there wasn't so much cleanup of sourcing and such that it couldn't have been done live. Really, the only parts I thought needed removal were the uses of IMDb as a source, the mention of IMDb reviews, and a couple of other sources that weren't really good RS. It was cleanup that really only needs a few minutes to do, easy fixes. ReaderofthePack(formerly Tokyogirl79) (。◕‿◕。) 20:00, 13 May 2022 (UTC)

Question from Madylani (11:10, 10 June 2022)

Hello, How can I publish my draft? --Madylani (talk) 11:10, 10 June 2022 (UTC)

Madylani, in order to publish a draft, you need to submit it for review. Then, a reviewer will look over your draft and determine if it is ready to be published. Hope that helps. Thanks, EDG 543 (message me) 20:21, 10 June 2022 (UTC)

Question from Ruchika bhagat on User:Ruchika bhagat/sandbox (05:59, 14 June 2022)

when is my article is going to publish --Ruchika bhagat (talk) 05:59, 14 June 2022 (UTC)

Hello, Ruchika bhagat. In order for an article to be published, you need to first create a draft, then submit your draft for review. Then you need to wait for it to be reviewed. The article you drafted in your sandbox about startups is not a bad start, but there is already an article about this topic called startup company. Thanks, EDG 543 (message me) 06:06, 14 June 2022 (UTC)

i got in trouble for putting daddy on eric nams wiki --Xiao Chan0x0 (talk) 01:26, 15 June 2022 (UTC)

That's because that conduct is vandalism. If you aren't looking to make constructive edits, please don't edit at all. Thanks, EDG 543 (message me) 01:30, 15 June 2022 (UTC)

Question from Ruchika bhagat on Wikipedia:EXPLORE (05:09, 15 June 2022)

Is my new article on section 188 is proper if yes so please publish it --Ruchika bhagat (talk) 05:09, 15 June 2022 (UTC)

Ruchika bhagat, this article does not seem proper to me it is rather lengthy (consider splitting into sections and omitting superfluous details) and contains no references, which are necessary for any article. I would recommend looking over don't of Wikipedia's general guidelines before attempting another article. Thanks, EDG 543 (message me) 05:41, 15 June 2022 (UTC)
