I have written my first article about Santa Barbara Tax Products Group and I'm not totally sure which portion of the article appears to be written for promotional purposes. It's my first article, so if you have any suggestions I'd appreciate it. EC Cyclopedia (talk) 20:08, 7 May 2011 (UTC)EC Cyclopedia
- Hi EC Cyclopedia, and again welcome to Wikipedia.
- You wrote, "I have written my first article about Santa Barbara Tax Products Group and I'm not totally sure which portion of the article appears to be written for promotional purposes." The short answer is: maybe all of it.
- Wikipedia cannot include articles that are purely a promotion of a business
- With respect to businesses, Wikipedia can only include a business that is "notable", meaning a business that is a business that has been the subject of significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources
- This is an abbreviated response - many other things to do. Please do feel free to contact me about this or any other questions you may have. --Shirt58 (talk) 12:50, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks, I replaced WSJ article with 2011 consumer group report that helps to substantiate the company's size in relation to its competitors - notably H&R Block. I'll look for other sources that demonstrate notability.
