Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited World Architecture Festival, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page BIG (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Jitterbug may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s and 1 "<>"s likely mistaking one for another. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • for 'gin and bitters'] ... and originally referred to one under the influence of gin and bitters.]''»<ref name=Wentworth />
  • earlier budde ; in quot. 1783 at sense 1 shorn bug appears for Middle English scearn-budde (-bude) < Old English scearn-budda dung beetle, and in Kent the ‘stag-beetle’ is still called shawn-bug.

Agathe Backer Grøndahl

[edit]

Hello.

Regarding your edits to Agathe Backer Grøndahl, removing the hyphen ([1], [2]), please see the previous discussion @ Talk:Agathe Backer Grøndahl#Surname.

Do you have sources confirming your version? Cheers. -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 21:39, 11 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. When I changed the name in the article I sourced the change (no hyphen) with her biography,
  • Dahm, Cecilie (1998). Agathe Backer Grøndahl: komponisten og pianisten. Oslo: Solum. ISBN 8256011521. {{cite book}}: Cite has empty unknown parameter: |side= (help) (This book is digitally readable and searchable for Norwegian IP-adresses). The biography is 255 pages, comprehensive and both the author and the publisher are reliable. I consider this a very reliable source.
- In addition all Norwegian libraries catalogue her as: Grøndahl, Agathe Backer. Which means Norwegian libraries consider her last name to be Grøndahl and her first names Agathe Backer, link to library catalogue.
- I have also consulted the ad which anounced her death here "Aftenposten 1907.06.06". Norge;Oslo. p. 3. and an obituary "Fredriksstad Tilskuer 1907.06.05". Norge;Østfold;Fredrikstad;. p. 2.{{cite web}}: CS1 maint: extra punctuation (link). None of these sources uses a hyphen. (These newspapers are digitally available from Norwegian libraries).
- Other sources for the article also writes her name without a hyphen.
- The biography does however write her sons name with a hyphen. I was not able to find a discussion about the difference between her name and her sons names. At the time we did not have any law regulating names in Norway. We did not get an Act of Names till 1923.
- There are examples of her name being written with a hyphen, but since I have not found a reliable source discussing this phenomenon I have been obliged to consider it original research to write about this. If I do find reliable sources discussing this I will include the material in the article. Regards. --ツDyveldi ☯ prat ✉ post 18:58, 12 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the comprehensive response, Dyveldi. I will copy this thread to Talk:Agathe Backer Grøndahl#Surname so that everyone will know. -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 21:13, 12 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Why are you asking for the Cannabis in Norway article to be deleted? Your claims that the claims made in the article are untrue, are not correct. This is exactly how things are in Norway. I should know, I am an expert on the subject and also the author of the Norwegian cannabis article on the local Wikipedia, which arguably holds a far higher standard than most. I'm sorry if I wrote this in the wrong place, and you may delete it, but I don't know how else to send you a message. -- LuckasK1998 [pleasantries] 16:36, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It's ok to alert me here. I do not check my English wachlist every day. I have answered on the article talk page. I have not nominated the article for deletion, but it should stay tagged with lack of accuracy. It is however not a 10 minute job to fix it. It bothers me somewhat when Wikipedia is not accurate in legal matters concerning matters punishable by Norwegian law (and other countries law as well) . --ツDyveldi ☯ prat ✉ post 20:00, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Scouse (food), you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Latvian and Lithuanian (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Albinism and wikidata

[edit]

Hi User:Dyveldi I noticed you somehow connected Albinism in humans to Wikidata. I wondered if it might be helpful to connect Albinism more generally, and also whether it was relatively easy for a wiki-editor to connect to wikidata - would i need to install the wikidata software? Maybe you could get back to me, either here or on my talk page. Thanks Berek (talk) 08:51, 8 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Yes and thanks for noticing Berek. I left the problem without finishing. Albinism in humans was connected to albinism generally worldwide. This was a bit confusing. Now the English Albinism is correctly connected to the rest of the Wikipedias. As far as I could see Albinism in humans does not have a twin article in other languages.
- When I swiched connections on Wikidata for the two articles the result is that Albinism in humans is now called "Albinism in biology" on Wikidata and this is not correct. I could not find out how to rename the wikidata-item Albinism in biology or as an alternative create a new Wikidata-item for Albinism in humans. Actually I hoped someone would notice and help fix the problem. A bit lazy of me. Do you have any suggestions? --ツDyveldi ☯ prat Special:EmailUser/Dyveldi 09:13, 8 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hi Dyveldi, thanks for getting back to me. I'm actually very new to wikidata, this is the first time I've come across it, my interest is in albinism and Wikipedia generally, but I'll try and get more familiar with wikidata. Sorry I don't think I'll be able to help with your specific query. Do stay in touch though I have a cousin and his family in Stavanger. Regards Berek (talk) 09:24, 8 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

October 2019

[edit]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at An apple a day keeps the doctor away. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose their editing privileges. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to result in loss of your editing privileges. Thank you. Alexbrn (talk) 07:56, 13 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please be advised that Alexbrn have removed the same content 3 times within 24 hours which brings you close to Wikipedia:3RR. Please do not accuse other good faith editors of edit warring and please use the article talk page. You alone is not a consensus. regards Dyveldi ☯ prat ✉ post 08:18, 13 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Dyveldi, a year ago you offered to help a Norwegian user with creating an article: Draft talk:Bjørn Magnus Berge. The draft has been declined for now, and the creator was still looking for help; I was wondering whether you might be able to provide any (the references seem to mostly be in Norwegian, so your expertise would be valuable!). —Emufarmers(T/C) 23:53, 18 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Dyveldi, we have talked during summer about the EYCN page and its merge with EuChemS. We have now collected the necessary info to support the relationship between the EYCN and the EuChemS. An example of how we would like the Organization part to look like is also included in the following sandbox https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:DimitraP/sandbox as per your suggestion. Please let me know how we could proceed further. Regards, DimitraP 08:13, 07 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
