[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Minnesota State Representative Greg Boe.jpeg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|cc-by-sa-4.0}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: Once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 15:45, 7 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:Minnesota State Representative Greg Boe.jpeg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Minnesota State Representative Greg Boe.jpeg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 23:57, 8 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Salavat, thank you for the additional information. I've followed your advice and added information to the image. Please feel free to review. - Dynamiccookies (talk | contribs) 13:44, 9 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, I have removed the deletion template now that there is a fair use present though just FYI the image's fair use may be disputed in the future. Wikipedia's policy is that if a free image can be reasonably obtained then a fair use image cannot be used. So in this case they would argue that a free image of Greg Boe can be reasonably obtained and so this particular image wont be allowed. Its not something I go after but another editor may do so in the future. Salavat (talk) 14:45, 9 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Minnesota State Representative Greg Boe.jpeg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Minnesota State Representative Greg Boe.jpeg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stylez995 (talk) 20:12, 24 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Tol, can you give me a couple examples of text/sentences from the article that do not meet the formal tone that's required? - Dynamiccookies (talk | contribs) 14:10, 13 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sure. Half of the lead is devoted to her status at various organisations; it should be moved elsewhere. The phrase "Plus Positive" sounds like a promotional term. It says that she is a "PLUSuencer" and a "Bold Boss", but does not explain what these are. There's repeated use of "very first" (or "first ever"), which should be changed to just "first". "Ember, playing the role of an extra in her first production film "The Ballad of Travis Hunter", shot a scene alongside the well known movie star Eric Roberts" — so she was an extra next to someone notable? That shouldn't be included. Some other examples include "and even Walmart" and the euphemism "plus size". Tol (talk | contribs) @ 14:31, 13 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! I really appreciate the feedback and I'll work to get that updated. This is my first new article from scratch, so I want to do it right so I can create others. - Dynamiccookies (talk | contribs) 14:54, 13 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Tol, I've made the changes you pointed out and reworked a few other sections. I also read through the information style and tone section to make sure I'm writing the article correctly. I think I got it this time. If you have some time, I would really appreciate it if you could you review it again and let me know how I did. Thank you! - Dynamiccookies (talk | contribs) 15:06, 22 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! I've reviewed the draft again. While I agree that it is an improvement, there are still parts that aren't neutral. For example, "fashion organization celebrating diversity in gender, shape, size, and shade" and "welcomed her into the BOLD Boss community". If you tighten up the wording, I think the draft would be accepted. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 15:26, 22 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Tol, you're awesome for helping me with this! Thank you! I was actually wondering about those two sections, but I talked myself out of changing/removing them. I've updated them now and resubmitted. Thank you again! - Dynamiccookies (talk | contribs) 15:50, 22 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No problem; you're welcome! Tol (talk | contribs) @ 16:06, 22 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
