References
[edit]I notice you're still having a bit of confusion over adding references so I thought I'd drop you some examples on your talk page.
There are various different ways to produce references, the easiest is to just type between the tags like this -
-
Which would appear below at reference point 1.[1]
As you may know already; we wikilink the full date of January 1 2007 because the display of this can be changed via user preferences, for example all dates appear on my screen as Day Month Year no matter how they are typed.
- January 1 2007, 1 January 2007, 2007-01-01 all appear the same if you've set the time and date preference.
- January 1 2007, 1 January 2007, 2007-01-01 all appear the same if you've set the time and date preference.
We can use templates between the -[2]
- -[2]
- -[2]
- -[2]
If you see a template being used in a page and want to see how to use it, click edit and then hit preview. If you scroll to the very bottom of the page, a list of templates used is shown. You can then click on these template's links to see the information and instructions for it if any.
If using the templates is onerous or time consuming for you, you can also use an external program called Wikicite which simplifies the process a little.
Hope this is of some help, - Foxhill 11:39, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
Image tagging for Image:Digswell-house-dtm.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Digswell-house-dtm.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Speedy deletion of Charlotte Collingwood
[edit]A tag has been placed on Charlotte Collingwood, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD A7.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add hangon
on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add hangon
on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. NMChico24 07:32, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Image:Charlotte-OWH-1.jpg listed for deletion
[edit]An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Charlotte-OWH-1.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Felicia Browne, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/WbrowneF.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 10:23, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Nan-Youngman.gif
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:Nan-Youngman.gif. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 14:26, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
Image source problem with File:3 Kings garden.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:3 Kings garden.jpg.
This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.
While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.
If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:30, 8 November 2011 (UTC). If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 19:30, 8 November 2011 (UTC)

Notification of automated file description generation
[edit]Your upload of File:Bedford Group.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! File permission problem with File:John Brunsdon hand on chin.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:John Brunsdon hand on chin.jpg, which you've attributed to Hugh Fairs. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add OTRS pending to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as non-free fair use or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ronhjones (Talk) 21:57, 24 April 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for January 19
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Laurence Broderick, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Crozet. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

I cannot work out how to alter the copyright to become acceptable on this file.
All of the images on <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_W._Mills> are my own work and the coin images were scanned directly by me from proof copies of the actual coins (in exactly the same way as The Royal Mint would have done).
I trust someone at your end can resolve this issue and reinstate the page as it was and has been for the last 8 years, I don't have the time or energy to work out these ever changing regulations.
I tried e-mailing this message to permissions-en@wikimedia.org but my messages keep getting returned.
Thank you in anticipation.
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. File:Digswell-house front.jpg listed for discussion
[edit]A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Digswell-house front.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for discussion. Please see the discussion to see why it has been listed (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry). Feel free to add your opinion on the matter below the nomination. The file File:John W Mills Bled out.gif has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
unused, low-res, no obvious use
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 6 May 2020 (UTC)
