Hello. I noticed you've edited the page for Donald Berwick, CEO of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI). We're trying to find someone willing to post a new entry on IHI itself. We have the content...would you be willing to post it? THANKS. Jjsmall (talk) 17:22, 10 June 2010 (UTC)jjsmall[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:TYTscreen.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:TYTscreen.JPG. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 04:09, 30 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly unfree File:SenatorKirk.jpg

[edit]

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:SenatorKirk.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files because its copyright status is unclear or disputed. If the file's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the file description page. NowCommons: File:SenRischOfficial.jpg

[edit]

File:SenRischOfficial.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Jim Risch official portrait.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: . Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 20:11, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:JamesWiggins.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:JamesWiggins.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:16, 23 November 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 19:16, 23 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Image sizes

[edit]

Is there a reason you put Congress images at 250px? The infoboxes have a natural imagte size of 225px that is assumed when no other parameter is forced. Hekerui (talk) 23:46, 12 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It eliminates the white space around the images without really stretching out the box.--Duffy2032 (talk) 01:15, 14 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Better source request for File:LordWeatherill.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:LordWeatherill.jpg. You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 17:49, 4 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:LordWeatherill.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:LordWeatherill.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Angus McLellan (Talk) 19:38, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:MarkSanfordOfficialPortrait.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:MarkSanfordOfficialPortrait.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

 • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
 • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Hekerui (talk) 23:32, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

First off, nice work on the template so far. I added Damone Brown and John Wallace (Geez, how could you forget Wallace??!) to the template. I think if you made the NBA you should definitely be included. I'm interested to see what your standard is for including someone on the 'Other Important Figures' list. A guy like LeRon Ellis or Marty Byrnes who made it to the NBA has had more of a lasting legacy than a guy like Eric Devendorf, who is floundering in the NBDL or a guy like Arinze Onuaku who probably won't make the NBA himself. Again, nice work so far. GoCuse44 (talk) 04:23, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Concerning your contribution, File:Cuomopic.jpg, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.flickr.com/photos/7307564@N03/472764465/. As a copyright violation, File:Cuomopic.jpg appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. File:Cuomopic.jpg has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License (CC-BY-SA) then you should do one of the following:

 • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at File talk:Cuomopic.jpg and send an email with the message to permissions-en@wikimedia.org. See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
 • If a note on the original website states that it is licensed under the CC-BY-SA license, leave a note at File talk:Cuomopic.jpg with a link to where we can find that note.
 • If you hold the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the CC-BY-SA and GFDL, and note that you have done so on File talk:Cuomopic.jpg.

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Thank you. Hekerui (talk) 09:19, 27 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The honorable?

[edit]

I moved this discussion for a wider viewpoint. Since several editors have expressed concerns, I would ask that you stop adding honorifics or other mass additions to infoboxes (I think you are the same IP editor that was adding detailed religious demoninations as well) until this matter can be sorted out. This applies to congressional as well as state official infoboxes. Thanks, and hopefully we can come to some sort of solution on this.DCmacnut<> 04:29, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

For creating and deploying the many UK ministry-related templates. If you want, I'd be happy to help. -Rrius (talk) 22:10, 16 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I like the information you included at 55th United Kingdom Parliament, but considering we have redirects such as 55th parliament of the UKList of MPs elected in the United Kingdom general election, 2010 and the latter follows a fairly established format, I think the information you included would better be suited in existing articles. See Talk:55th United Kingdom Parliament. --Tim Parenti (talk) 06:23, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated United Kingdom Parliament of 2010, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/United Kingdom Parliament of 2010. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. –– Jezhotwells (talk) 13:55, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Revert it back then, it is a lot easier to go, ow I think this long picture of a jacket and a tie is better and to press revert than to download and crop a picture on your computer and reupload it and add it to commons and add it to the article. Off2riorob (talk) 09:33, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I think that we're on different wavelinks here, I'm fine with your revert back to the cropped picture and have no interest in reverting it back to the long image again.--Duffy2032 (talk) 09:36, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:SirHumphrey.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Ministry Navboxes

[edit]

Hi Duffy. I notice from Neville Chamberlain's article that you have created many "X Ministry" templates. Well done. However, I do have a bone to pick — British Prime Ministers are never to be styled "Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain" etc. You should change the headers to something like "David Cameron's Ministry" "Ministry of David Cameron" or "Cameron Ministry". The fact that each named man was PM will be evident from the fact that he is listed as such within the template. Cheers DBD 11:35, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

United States National Archives WikiProject

OGL

[edit]

Hi , just a note to lets you know that those OGL pics such as the one you uploaded of G Osborne can go straight to commons where they are more accessible to multiple projects http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:George_osborne_hi.jpg - thanks - Off2riorob (talk) 14:47, 12 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Open gov. images

[edit]

When you uploaded File:Justinegreeninghi.jpg, why did you not go to the Commons and tag File:Portrait-justinegreening.jpg for deletion as redundant? Why are you uploading images using OGL here rather than Commons? Commons:template:OGL exists and is in use. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 15:48, 14 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited Mo Mowlam, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Andrew Mackay (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Template: US Ambassadors to the PRC

[edit]

I would like to draw your attention to a note left on this template's talk page, which you created. I had hoped to add the template to John Van Antwerp MacMurray, but stopped myself because he was not an ambassador to the PRC; he was an ambassador to the Republic of China, which bears both a different flag and a different name than what is used on the template. I would suggest changing the template name from PRC -> China, and perhaps also adding the flags of the Qing empire and the ROC (if possible). Any thoughts? A tag has been placed on File:LordHowell.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
