Question from SVtrustee (15:29, 14 March 2023)
Pleased to meet you. I look forward to your guidance.
My goal is to create a page for a publicly-traded technology company, similar to:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MaxLinear --SVtrustee (talk) 15:29, 14 March 2023 (UTC)
- @SVtrustee: Do you have a conflict of interest with the company? If so, you are strongly discouraged from writing an article (not a page) about the company. – dudhhr talk contribs (he/they) 15:45, 14 March 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for making me aware of the COI rules. I am a paid editor and intend to disclose that fact when I post the article.
- Like the existing wikipedia article above (Maxlinear) that I referenced as a typical model, I am writing about a medium size manufacturing firm. There are thousands of such firms with wikipedia articles. It is not the sort of topic that the general public would write about. All such wikipedia articles are written by company employees, paid public relations firms, or freelance writers such as myself.
- My intention is to have a completely factual, annotated and entirely neutral article offering wikipedia users a source of basic information on the company. Like all such articles, it will be subject to edits by third parties if any question the facts I present. SVtrustee (talk) 21:34, 14 March 2023 (UTC)

HI I have just created a wikipedia page for a living artist. How do I upload it ? --ArtDaley (talk) 23:26, 27 March 2023 (UTC)
- @ArtDaley: I can see that this post on my talk page is your only edit to Wikipedia. Did you create the draft while logged out? – dudhhr talk contribs (he/they) 23:36, 27 March 2023 (UTC)
- Yes I have written the entire page as a Word doc.I would also like ti include an image or two as it is for an artist. ArtDaley (talk) 23:42, 27 March 2023 (UTC)
- Can you please tell me what steps I need to take next to submit my article and photos for publication? Does it need to be a Word doc, or in text edit, etc and what size images? Thank you for your help. ArtDaley (talk) 23:10, 28 March 2023 (UTC)
- @ArtDaley: Copy the document's text into a draft (Draft:(artist's name), replace
artist's name
with their name). If you have a conflict of interest with the artist, you are strongly discouraged from writing an article baout them. – dudhhr talk contribs (he/they) 23:18, 28 March 2023 (UTC)- He's a brilliant artist and my friend. I am trying to HELP him, as his work is outstanding and he deserves some recognition. So, once again, please tell me HOW AND WHERE TO SUBMIT once it is copied into text edit. Thank you.
